I could build it, but I don’t currently have a VPS or other server to run it. A bot that posted whenever Revuo Monero, The Monero Standard, etc would go a long way towards making this place the only place you need to go for Monero news and information.
There is this lemmy bot https://github.com/SleeplessOne1917/lemmy-bot but I haven’t had the time to look deeper into it. Seems like it can do basically everything. If someone wants to write a config, I’d be happy to selfhost it.
What’s a good timeline? I will be busy as hell for about 2 more weeks, then I can slap something together. We need to seize the moment though, so maybe 2 weeks is too long.
Honestly looking at it, it’s js, I could probably slap a python bot together in a day or two that checks RSS feeds for some websites and posts them. It would probably be easier than using this lemmy library. I already have a lemmy API testing suite built (it’s outdated, I used to contribute to lemmy a loooong time ago) so I’m somewhat familiar with the API. But again, I couldn’t get started for 2 more weeks.
I guess we could just manually post the links for now 😅 I too have a ton of things to do in the next 2 weeks (for example Monerokon)
Sounds good. We should get together on here or somewhere in a couple of weeks, I’m sure theres more bots and things I could build.
Was it a bot that posted them on reddit?
I don’t know, but these newsletters are released on a schedule and running a bot to do it would make a lot of sense.
Not sure about the blog posts like Revuo (I know that has a Telegram bot) but the weekly posts were made with reddit mod tools.
Somebody may be able to port the mod tools to lemmy if they were foss. If not someone could build some since the API is open
