Why is everyone saying the liberal party are the biggest ones impacted, how did the national party get left out of the conversation when they seem to be ones PHON is the biggest threat to?

It was a Liberal held seat for 25 year (or there abouts).

The article headline and most of the references in the article are to the Coalition though, which is includes the National Party.

        https://www.abc.net.au/news/elections/farrer-by-election-2026

that’s true, didn’t realise how far back it was since nats last held it

Trying to find more info but it’s confusing

“Cut their tails off and send ’em back overseas,” she says bluntly.

As she speaks, Fantig gestures towards a man sleeping rough on the banks of the Murray River.

“They’re living in our homes while Australians can’t even find a rental,” she says. “As Aussie taxpayers, we’re the ones being discriminated against.”

The irony is baked into the geography. Fantig’s grievance is boiling over in one of the most “traditionally Australian” pockets of the country; more than 80 per cent of Farrer’s residents were born here, far higher than NSW’s 64 per cent average.
