Don’t feel too bad about having been an insufferable lib. I used to be one too but there was a user on reddit who never gave up extolling the virtues of China and Communism and after years of my bad faith arguments and their making new accounts because they got banned, reality finally broke through. I never got to tell them thanks for not giving up on me.

Genuinely, the discussions happening here are a very good intro to compare/contrast to narratives that get thrown at people from imperialist and bourgeoisie media, on top of everything else. It’s also got many links to good sources of info on leftist thought and alternative perspectives.
Also - not sure if others have mentioned, but sometimes it can be difficult maintaining optimism when learning about the real world through a communist lense; laying bare the countless injustices and vitriolic, grotesque reactionary behavior of those who oppress us and how they do so can be a daunting task to open your eyes to all at once, so don’t forget your own mental health on your journey.
