The Foreign Ministry has strongly condemned the United States’ threat of targeting Oman with sanctions after Washington warned it would attack the country if it cooperated with Iran towards exercising control over the Strait of Hormuz.

Spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei made the remarks on Thursday after US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent issued the threat.

Baghaei described the menacing rhetoric as “an attempt to blackmail an independent UN member state and yet another sign of the moral bankruptcy of the American system of governance and policymaking.”

Threatening to impose sanctions on Oman under a baseless pretext is an absolutely unlawful act and contrary to the fundamental principles of the UN Charter and international law, he asserted.

The official added that the international community had to respond responsibly to such conduct in order to prevent the growing normalization of violations of international legal norms.

On Wednesday, US President Donald Trump had said he would “blow up” Oman if it agreed to work with Iran to share control of the Strait of Hormuz.

Reacting to those remarks, Baghaei had expressed solidarity with the friendly and brotherly country of Oman, noting how the threat had been issued against a state, “which has always played a constructive, effective, and responsible role in regional peace and security, spent many years as a mediator in diplomatic processes, and made endeavors to serve regional peace and stability.”

Such threat, the spokesman noted, "not only violates the principle on the prohibition of threat or use of force, but is another dangerous sign of the normalization of lawlessness and bullying in international relations.”

Iran and Oman are negotiating a new framework for maritime transit through the Strait of Hormuz.

Remarking on the negotiations on Wednesday, Deputy Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council (SNSC), Ali Bagheri Kani said passage through the strategic waterway would no longer follow previous arrangements.

Iran shut down the strait to enemies and their allies following the launch on February 28 of the United States’ and the Israeli regime’s latest bout of unprovoked aggression targeting the Islamic Republic.

It began exercising far stricter controls after Trump announced an illegal blockade of Iranian vessels and ports in continuation of the aggression and in violation of the terms of a ceasefire the US president, himself, had declared earlier.

On May 20, the Iranian authority controlling the Strait of Hormuz in the Persian Gulf defined the supervisory management zone of the waterway.

So far, the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC)'s Navy has issued passage permits for scores of vessels for transit through the waterway in line with the Islamic Republic’s instructions.

Hezbollah on Thursday dismissed Israeli claims regarding the Qaraoun Dam as false allegations and “fabricated pretexts aimed at justifying a dangerous escalation near one of Lebanon’s most vital strategic facilities.

In a statement issued on Thursday, Hezbollah warned that the Israeli accusations could serve as groundwork for a new attack targeting the Qaraoun Dam, its surroundings, or other civilian and critical infrastructure across Lebanon.

The group stressed that the Qaraoun Dam represents one of Lebanon’s most important water and infrastructure facilities, supplying water, irrigation, and electricity to dozens of regions across the country and directly impacting the security and daily lives of the Lebanese population.

    Qaraoun Dam Israeli strike

Smoke rises after an Israeli strike on Qaraoun Dam (May 26, 2026.

Hezbollah said Israeli claims of concern for Lebanon’s infrastructure, water resources, agriculture, electricity sector, and economy “will deceive no one,” affirming that the Israeli enemy pursues a long-standing policy of “lies and misinformation” to justify its ongoing attacks on Lebanon and its violations against civilians, children, paramedics, and journalists.

The statement further highlighted that the Israeli occupation is attempting to blame the resistance for crises caused by its continuous aggression backed openly and directly by the United States, while portraying the resistance as acting against Lebanon’s national interest in a bid to fuel internal tensions and divisions among the Lebanese people.

Hezbollah added the Israeli enemy, which has repeatedly destroyed bridges, roads, power stations, water facilities, ports, homes, and civilian infrastructure during its wars and attacks on Lebanon, cannot present itself as a protector of Lebanon’s infrastructure or stability.

“The Israeli enemy is a real and permanent threat to Lebanon’s security, infrastructure, economy, and national sovereignty,” the statement underscored.

Hezbollah also placed what it called Israeli threats “before the international community and human rights and humanitarian organizations,” urging them to end their silence regarding repeated Israeli attacks on Lebanon and its infrastructure.

The movement concluded by calling on the Lebanese state and all its institutions to move beyond “mere observation” and launch immediate diplomatic, legal, and media action, including filing an urgent complaint before relevant international bodies to hold “Israel” accountable for its ongoing aggression against Lebanon and its people.

  • That is very helpful I forgot Berletic existed when I was refiling all the dang YouTubes among other things recently, he is one of the more sober alt media people, talked to him a bit on TG and he seems… “Normal.” I would listen in even if I knew he was a fed, it would be the same process anyways.

I wonder if that’s a realistic objective for the US. I’m more on the nit-and-grit side of the industry w chemistry n shit but based on raw numbers the countries the US intends to hurt the most are coasting by far better than US allies which are allowed minimal independent refinement capacity. I’m sure the US wouldn’t mind failing another sanction-war and settling for fucking over their allies they seem physically incapable of not doing that even after the agonizing process of Covid & Ukraine. Maybe from self-interested bougie standpoints this feels like even bigger #winning

  • [2026-05-29] PressTV – Iran vows proportionate response to further US ‘provocations’ after Bandar Abbas strike

    Expand article

Iran’s deputy foreign minister has warned that Tehran will deliver a “proportionate response” to any continued US provocations, hours after the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) struck an American military site in the Persian Gulf in retaliation for a US attack on an airport in southern Iran.

The US military fired projectiles at part of Bandar Abbas airport on Thursday. The IRGC immediately responded by striking the American military site from which the attack had originated, according to Iranian officials.

“The response delivered by the IRGC demonstrated the full readiness of Iran’s Armed Forces,” Deputy Foreign Minister for Legal and International Affairs Kazem Gharibabadi said. “Should such actions continue, the Islamic Republic of Iran will respond proportionately.”

Gharibabadi emphasized that Iran’s military strength is matched by national unity and cohesion, both of which reinforce the country’s authority.

“Enemies must understand that Iran will show an appropriate and proportionate response to any repetition of threats or acts of aggression,” he warned.

The deputy foreign minister also addressed the strategic importance of the Strait of Hormuz, through which a fifth of the world’s oil and gas flows. “We will not allow enemies to create any disruption through military or threatening actions,” he stressed.

Iran has restricted access through the waterway by barring vessels linked to the US and its allies that participated in or supported the recent US-Israeli war of aggression against the Islamic Republic.

Also on Thursday, Brigadier General Hassan Hassanzadeh, commander of the IRGC’s Tehran Command, reaffirmed the full readiness of Iran’s Armed Forces, warning that adversaries have repeatedly learned that any miscalculation would be met with a “decisive, definite, effective, and crushing response” in the shortest possible time.

He said military drills would resume immediately after the war ends.

“Immediately after the cessation of hostilities, new drills and training programs based on recent experiences will begin, and today the readiness of the IRGC and the Basij to respond, confront threats, and establish security under the harshest conditions is far greater and stronger than before,” Hassanzadeh stressed.

He added that the Iran Navy, the IRGC Aerospace Force, and all sectors of the Iran Army are now at peak readiness, with operational mechanisms structured to respond to any hostile action in the shortest possible time.

The US and Israel launched an unprovoked war of aggression against Iran on February 28, assassinating the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei, top commanders, and striking schools, hospitals and civilian infrastructure.

Iran responded with 100 waves of retaliatory strikes under Operation True Promise 4, launching hundreds of ballistic and hypersonic missiles, as well as drones, against American bases across West Asia and Israeli positions in the occupied territories.

A fragile Pakistan‑brokered ceasefire has been in place since early April, but an illegal US naval blockade of Iranian ports remains.

  • Rather than go back thru like two-five weeks (I got overwhelmed at work + trips + family stuff, abruptly reminded of the reality of time + space + how unfinished/unpolished some of the automation/info intake is) I wanna ask what the fuck happened. I checked the other day and the first thing I saw was the US saying it attacked Iran. At this point I didn’t even believe it because the US RSS feeds are always lying to me. So, did they actually do an attack? Did Iran hit something back in the Gulf states? Has the UAE seen the folly of their ways, just kidding? Has the US launched any more high seas piracy to cast more MAGAllusions blockade enforcement special military activities? Etcetera?

Anything will be helpful just please save me some review via summary. Just give your take on it, even if you’re totally guessing about some stuff or also partly out of the loop (I know how bad the infospace around this is, thanks again for playing). I won’t do this much, feel free to delete (?) it mods. I’m not gonna flip out again. I’m not a flipper-outer. I’m an Outer God. Okay I’m gonna actually see for myself and contribute now sorry lol

  • Seriously man you should consider long-term what you want to do with these skillz. I’m already in oil so that narrows my focus in terms of what has dual use for work & entertainment. You could make whatever kinda blog or website you want & once you get it out there (THE HARDEST PART – YOU NEED CONNECTIONS) people will see the effort. Just a consideration next few years. I’ve gotten a good bit from channels with option donations or premium articles I devoted substantially less attention than this.

Obviously the AoR is what we are here for but there is no reason not to give yourself some clout.
