Why do kids get so insanely overscheduled with schoolwork and extracurriculars? So that they can look better on college applications and get into the best school possible. Why do kids need to go to the best school possible? So that they can hopefully get a job that pays them well enough to survive in this ridiculous capitalist society, in which the cost of living steadily rises, employee benefits increasingly vanish, and wages don’t keep up with inflation.
Their childhoods are being sacrificed in hopes that they can make it in adulthood.
51·3 个月前I like Aldi for staples like old-fashioned oats, cooking oil, and laundry detergent. But I can’t do all my shopping there because their meat is awful and their produce is very hit-or-miss. Typically I buy what I can at Aldi and get the rest at Giant, and if I’m getting fish, I go to Wegmans.

I had a pumpkin ale on the deck with my hubby, and we both needed to put on a sweatshirt! We’ve been getting great weather lately - actual proper fall weather, highs in the mid-seventies and lows in the low fifties (~23 and 10 centigrade respectively) with no humidity. Normally we’d still be in the eighties with tons of humidity!
Guess it’s time to go buy some mums!
