Good job, ABC!
The default response from companies who tested under their claims was that they had independent testing results and they called into question Choice’s testing methodology.
The ABC finally asked and investigated one of the obvious follow ups.
I always assumed stickers were there for marketing/branding purposes.
It always made me laugh because:
a) I coudn’t tell you the name of any of those brands, so that doesn’t work.
b) I buy whatever fruit is at the shop. I can’t go searching for XYZ brand of apples lol
And the sub that got me to post says “The golden unicorn of homes that could solve the housing crisis”
No. No single thing will.
Oh, another silver bullet?
They are a part of a solution. Multiple policies are required on both the demand side and the supply side.
Put them closer together, then go out and press them in the mud somewhere and you’ll start a panic that dinosaurs aren’t extinct!
“I do not consent and I am travelling”
Anybody that cares about this has already made their choices long ago.
I have mixed feelings about this.
There is probably a lot of truth to what Stan says, and perhaps a lot of wisdom in the quotes he has chosen.
But most people simply cannot devote the time to contemplate such matters. They’re spending all their time simply trying to battle the lower rungs of Maslow’s hierarchy
It does kinda remind me of something I was thinking the other day. People spend hours at the gym/exercising/sport working on their physical wellbeing, but do they spend any time on improving their mind? Or, perhaps beyond that, on challenging or improving their ‘spiritual’ understanding? It seemed to me that, at a surface level, there seems to be a big imbalance to the physical. And maybe I also should think and plan to balance more on the other two. If I could spend less time on the bottom tiers of Maslow’s hierarchy, maybe I’d have more time to spend at the top?
Anyways, I’m glad Stan seems to be finding some peace.
They have been named:
and…
These are the scientific names, and may be quite difficult for anyone not Australian to understand or pronounce.
I’m for lab grown meat, but as we transition to it, somebody will have to get rid of all those extra cows, pigs, chickens etc, and I will make the sacrifice and volunteer to help do it, one steak, chop, sausage and wing at a time.
Well, if they want access to my power and data, before I would even consider it, I would have to charge a fee.
Perhaps I would call it a Daily Supply Charge.
Of TV viewership: “Sky News Australia’s reach increased by four percentage points (17%) over the past 12 months”
Fuck!
Boomers, NO! STOP!
There is no single silver bullet.
I think it’s been clear for quite some time that you need to be pulling all the levers if you really want housing to be affordable.
Oh, this sounds very familiar!
There were similar poor results 9 years ago when Choice did a roundup of tests. And, of course the manufacturers questioned Choice’s testing.
And the TGA said they would consider their findings and determine any actions.
I wonder what happened?
reducing the reliance on income taxes
Tariffs!
They’re like increasing GST, but just for the poors that can’t buy what they want in one of the other countries/tax havens they live in.
Oh, wow.
And you just cremated them 🤣
The press is free. Free to be targets!
Weapons free!
Free to engage!
So much freedom!
I like your idea, but maybe we should let the animals free and return them to their natural habitats, and instead lock the humans in to fight it out.
Politicians would be a good place to start.
I never got the sitting outdoors on a major road.
Also, exercising (walking, running, cycling) where roads are, would surely be even worse for you?
