I think it may be time to just delete all online accounts and only use internet for streaming video and audio or shopping/banking. Doing anything social online has been grossly monetized and I hate it. If fediverse gets attacked by yet another megacorp, I’m out I have no fight or energy left. Been online since dialup bbs, ran my own, forums and personal sites too. Plenty of IRC channels and other communities. But I just don’t care anymore. I have very few IRL friends and pretty much zero online anymore as they all settled into FB and I ditched out years ago. Dropping this really isn’t more than nuking a distraction. I still have a lot of unread books. Shrug.

And in that vein. I should probably just go do the commute to work as a ride to see how it feels and how long it will take me. Not a bad idea.

I need to do a nice shake down run as it also doubles as my commuter and has racks and such. I intend to probably start trying to commute again as my commute has more than doubled and I want to give this new run a try.

And then maybe go follow it up with a nice bike ride after breakfast. I haven’t had the gravel bike out in months as it’s been prime single track season. But I figured I might change it up for the day.

I’ve heard variations of this going back 30 years in the automotive repair business. I often paraphrase a version of it when cutting some corners or doing things in a weird way that saves time and energy, but maybe isn’t the safest. Probably not the original intent but…

I think it’s that the c64 only has enough juice to do midi follow. The clock on the behringer is known to be pretty crap and that it is what is doing timing in this basic setup. That’s why I suggested I might use something like the Tr6 reissue that likely has better midi. It kind of negates the exclusive use of c64 for percussion, but does open the doors to a lot of other interesting uses.

It’s basically the symptoms are wandering timing. They always fall a little out of step after a few minutes. I could see if some of that is that specific machine. I have an NTSC bread in that is pretty mint. But this PAL unit has sidFX and a bunch of other mods so.

That’s not entirely true. I have twice in the last year had no other option than to install an app to use tickets I purchased. An many medical services refuse to do anything that isn’t online or via an app. It’s getting to be harder and harder to not need a mobile device. It’s getting pretty stupid. Theine has been crossed already. I lived half my life without internet, I’d survive without it. But the world isn’t headed in a direction that makes it feesible anymore unless you just completely check out.
