"Episode 2 of Decentralized.TV brings you a breaking interview with attorney Jonathan Emord, running for the U.S. Senate for the state of Virginia. He affirms accepting campaign donations in crypto (see his website EmordForVA.com) and will vigorously defend your right to practice self-custody of your cryptocurrency.

Noting that politicians in the US who “accept crypto donations” are using middleman services who convert crypto straight to dollars. Looked into this after RFK came out at Bicoin conference '23 accepting lightning donations. Due to campaign funding laws, all donations must be declared and, I assume to facilitate this, the campaigns use a 3rd party to accept crypto and receive US dollars. Whilst Emord looks anti-establishment and has a good track record - his crypto page only accepts: ETH, USDT, USDC, SHIB, DAI, APE and WBTC. So I assume his company of choice, Politicoinred only plays with Ethereum based shitcoins. And does not accept XMR.

Not advocating donating to politicians at all, just fun to watch these boomers discover private crypto :)
