Talks of a possible bipartisan solution to the House Speaker standoff that has created chaos in the Republican caucus are underway, House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries said Sunday.

“There are informal conversations that have been underway. When we get back to Washington tomorrow, it’s important to begin to formalize those discussions,” the New York Democrat said during an interview on NBC’s “Meet the Press.”

When asked what House Democrats might be asking for a deal with House Republicans, Jeffries said his caucus wants “to ensure that votes are taken on bills that have substantial Democratic support and substantial Republican support so that the extremists aren’t able to dictate the agenda.”

I have no desire to test that theory after what we saw happen to Hillary Clinton. No matter how you spin it, the reputational damage and general “vibe” that followed is truly hard to understate. Did it cost her the election? Debatable. Her campaign made a lot of missteps. But there is no doubt that “but her emails” was one of the most impressive, effective, sustained attacks we have seen in a very long time. They got years of results with that attack. This Hunter Biden thing has been going on for what? 6 or 7 years now? And yet it is still rolling around with gas in the tank.

The difference being Hillary actually did something wrong. Was it overblown? Definitely. The difference is there is absolutely zero proof of Biden doing anything wrong and watching witnesses Republicans call up basically tell them the same makes them look incredibly fucking stupid. The finger pointing in this case is a detriment.

Also Trump wasn’t facing 91 indictments in 2016 and his kids are just as fucking stupid as Hunter so pot calling the kettle black

You and I know that, but come on, we both know that most conservatives simply think that anything remotely related to him that sounds criminal is damning.

It’s an incredibly potent tool for getting out the votes. They don’t even need an indictment. All they need is for the American public to question whether or not Biden is honest/corrupt. When you’re talking about over 100 million people voting the peel off effect can be significant. That’s how you get people to not show up and vote if they’re not already committed to Biden, and it galvanizes your base/gets them to the polls.

Conservatives who believe this wouldn’t have voted for him if this didn’t happen anyway.

On the other side 91 indictments is also an incredibly potent tool for getting out the vote
