This could all be fixed if you… Went to the store yourself. I understand that some people can’t. But the majority of people use it out of convenience/laziness. I have one friend in particular who leans on it because she’s always too drunk/hungover to shop, and it allows her alcoholism even more free reign on ruining her life. Not only that, you’re paying more for it. I don’t get it.
It’s just way more convenient. I can do it at home and build up my order while doing the meal plan. Plus I don’t need to drag the kids around with me who only add to the stress.
The additional cost is negligible. We get a 6 month pass, but when you factor in fuel costs, wear and tear on the car then it’s hardly worth thinking about.
Don’t act like this is the standard of the future and I’m just some grumpy old man or something, while also complaining about the failures of it. You’re just snuggling up under the blanket of late stage capitalism.
I live within 3 miles of a branch of all of the major supermarkets in the UK except Waitrose.
The only time I can possibly go shopping is after 7pm and even if I go in with a list of stuff and stick to it the round trip is 2 hours because of the checkout queues, car park queues and crowded shops.
I don’t know if you have ever been to a supermarket after 7pm but good luck finding any fresh fruit and veg that hasn’t been squashed to a pulp.
The only reliable shop near me is a particularly well stocked Morrisons Express but it’s cheaper and easier to shop from Ocado.

Lmao, justify it however you wish. Just remember this when you’re one of those people on WALL-E.
It’s not that deep lol. Do you use a washing machine?
