But I’ll add. Yes if birds enter engines they destroy them. This is why air intekes thed to have protection. Harm is more likely from rear engine input. As these are less protected as flight makes it pretty hard for anything but weapons grade to enter that way.
As you mentioned jet engines are very diff now to early designs due to accident reports.
