Trades Hall probably can’t say ‘Punch them’ legally or without cops getting agro.

I read the other day that a good response to these fuck heads is ridicule. They’re not only prepared for a fight, it’s what they want. What they can’t stand however is being ridiculed and laughed at. The most demoralising thing you can do is to laugh in their face because of how fucking ridiculous they are.

Sure, tell them to Fuck right Off… but do it with a chuckle and a grin. They won’t know how to handle it.

I think this is kinda what trades hall was going for. My comment in the post text about them not being able to say ‘punch them’ was aimed at folks who might think that by not saying that then it is some kind of capitulation. I remember reading that someone did confront the goons at the recent Melbourne rally and apparently they got toweled because the nazis are prepared to fight you when you’re out numbered.

Some of the antifascists in Australia have had success with YARDing (Yelling At Racist Dogs): “How to deal with alt-right pests at rallies”.

Demonstrating to these idiots that they’re outsiders to the communities they’re targeting is, you picked the right word, demoralising. One of the main neo-Nazi organisers here (Joel Davis) made a speech to the UK Patriotic Alternative, quote “You guys might get demoralised sometimes when you do a demonstration and there’s fifty of you and there’s two hundred antifa- I’m not saying that’s happened, but I don’t- I don’t know all the details, but I’ve been in experiences like that where I’ve gone to protests […] and there’s ten of us and, like, two hundred communists. And it feels like shit. i-it’s horrible. It’s horrifying.”

          no it doesn’t

humiliating people who have narcissistic tendencies is the biggest cause of violence

learn to understand the personal psychology of individuals and the psychology of movements and how to best fight them , they are two different things

The police wouldn’t like messaging that says to punch Nazis because it would be advocating for violence against the police

I remember when isis was taking over the Middle East, seeing a video of a group of isil members knocking on the door of a Baghdad police officer’s house at around 2:00 a.m. They weren’t there for chit chat, they were there so they could take the guy outside and cut his head off.

Never murder to kill a nazi. Our grandfather’s would demand it. Probably why these fucks feel safe coming out in public. Because our grandfather’s that fought in WWII are not here to put a stop to this shit.

I don’t give a fuck what people believe. They are free to believe what ever idiocy they choose. I am also free to not have anything to do with hateful stupid people. I choose my friends.

The minute they act as oppressors I will use the law and use it hard. Anything else is just hot air.

They are free to believe what ever idiocy they choose.

You say this as if their beliefs are inconsequential, merely ideas in an abstract. This group is a predatory cult. It was recently publicly revealed that one of their members already killed themselves due to internal oppression. They regularly threaten people (including politicians) with violence and commit violence, and members have been charged and arrested for doing so. They’re still doing it and growing in size. The law has shown itself ineffective at stopping them.

But ultimately, at the end of the day, this cult is organising with the explicit intent of exterminating people, including me. So, when do you believe I, or we, should stop them?

tolerance has been misrepresented, it’s a social contract , tolerance is about letting people with differences of opinion live, when one breaks the deal and abuses and oppresses another the deal is off

further, the way to deal with it is by using the law, do not be afraid to assert the law

like most psychopaths nazis will whine they are victims,

just tell them to stop whining, it’s consequences for their actions

        no leniency

Thanks. I understand. If I have something similar to share I’ll post it to Australia or another suitable community. How did canvas go this year? I didn’t have time to check in on it.

The canvas got nowhere this year, I was on holiday and some of the other big contributers didn’t do it, so nobody did enough to get the ball rolling. We did get a bluey in tho, and we had some stars and an aboriginal flag but those got removed. Hopefully we can make a comeback next time.

  • As someone who is for setting sensible limits on immigration for environmental and economic reasons I also wish they would fuck off.

All their racist nonsense ends up doing is drowning out any chance of sensible discussion about what sustainable levels of population growth from immigration look like.

These protestors are literally doing the bidding of the 1% / business lobby / rent seekers for free. Of course anyone that racist is too stupid to even realise that’s what they are doing.

Do we need any more proof really that protesting is fucking useless? These people want us protesting. Satiating our need to resist through meaningless gestures. All this does is waste time and energy. There are better ways, there must be better ways. and I see the excuse that protesting is still useful because it gives you a means to organize for further action. Maybe that’s true, or maybe you are just talking to a cop at a protest and you don’t even know it.

That’s not “an excuse”. Look at basically all revolutions which weren’t just military coups and you can find meaningful protests. They’re a major entry point to those “better ways” you mention.

A protest isn’t inherently effective, going there and simply standing around listening to speeches is a waste of your time, but it is still an important tool in social change.

Y’all would be better off dropping the communist/socialist vibe.

It just serves to be divisive on a topic that doesn’t need to be. This just serves to divide Nazi haters.

I’m extremely interested to hear which card you carried, as this Marxist group sounds very strange and, well, not Marxist.

The sentences you said after clearly contradict Marx’s own theory and actions, as well as those of every Marxist group I’ve talked to in this country. The only one (1) I’ve know to be anti-union was the SEP, who are tiny and inconsequential and demand workers create their own union.
