        I think the other user may be mixing up events in their head. I haven’t seen anything about Proton’s donations but the Proton CEO has publicly made statements that suggested he might be pro-Trump.

        Here is a really in depth analysis of his comments that concludes he may not actually be pro-MAGA.

              Misinformed. And it’s good on you to recognise it. It happens to all of us.

              It’s a reminder that some people spew stuff for political purposes (even if they don’t need to do it with the current US administration, it faceplants by itself 24/7 without any need for faked information) .

                Yeah, I was wrong about the donation. I didn’t mean to be – but I will say the thrust of my argument is valid. That company was praising Trump with words, which is deeply concerning for anyone seeing the fascist shit happening. Proton was where I was planning to move but, I think rightly, I’m going to now consider other European options instead. It totally sucks that basically every company that provides a reliable service or product does so while hurting others, directly or indirectly.

                Having said all that, thank you for asking about the donation. I don’t want to be spreading false information whether it would support my point or not.
