The article doesn’t really go into it further, but i assumed they are just trying to see if it can be done cheaper in zero gravity.
I was just making a joke about having to go to orbit for treatment. It’s lame, I know.
Nah, I just saw the other comment as well and wanted to try to clear things up. I made the joke first in the post and was afraid people would think I as serious.
It’s not about cheaper. You can grow crystals in zero-g that won’t grow in 1g, and those crystals have the potential to outperform what we make on Earth.
