well the US one is wildly more popular in every country(especially with streaming now), so i think it’s fair that “The Office” refers to the US one. In fact there was another TV show called The Office before the Ricky Gervais one, but people don’t refer to that when they mean “The Office” either.
Also when they said “Michael Scott” and “The office” in the same sentence, that’s pretty clear.
Fair enough, as the UK series was the original, I still think people should delineate when they mean the US series.
