DeSantis likes to talk about freedom, but his approach to governing has always been to maximize the power he has (both official and unofficial) and to use all of it as aggressively as possible to further his agenda and crush opposition. He has no respect for rights, norms, institutions, laws, the will of the people, or even party loyalty. He has contempt for the idea of restraint, or, dare I say it, limited government.
Quite frankly, I don’t know that there’s any line he wouldn’t cross if it advances his agenda.

I’m 10x more afraid of someone like DeSantis because he craves authority and power. Trump just wants to grift and he’d turn on a dime to make a dime.
