Is there any way to change instance on Jerboa?
Click the top left to log in.
How can we help with localization?
Yep, instructions in the release notes.
The user experience is great for me. Terrific app even in alpha.
Thanks for all your and contributors hard work. I’ve signed up for your Patreon and hope to see this platform flourish.
Thanks for this! I just got into Lemmy/jerboa recently and was about to file some issues on github. But you fixed my them already :D
A feature that I greatly desire is similar to RIF’s column style cards. It makes veiwing content signifgantly faster, especially on larger phones and tablets (like my fold 3).
You guys are killing it! Thank you so much, the app is shaping up great.
Can I suggest a couple of features that I love:
Hide read (after opening and exiting a post, mark as read, next time you refresh or re enter app, hide read posts)
In the same avenue, temporal unhide post (if you want to see a post you previously read on a community or in front page)
Food for thought, Again you are doing amazing work!
Not sure if this is where to put this, but I can no longer reply to messages from the inbox or view context at all. Like all the buttons disappeared. I have to manually go to the thread, find the comment, and reply that way now.
Just wanted to point it out since it’s probably a bug!
Thank you so much to all the contributors. This new user is very pleased with his new home on Jerboa/Lemmy !!
How long does it take for new versions to show up in Fdroid?
F-droid, about a week. Izzyondroid, about a day.
I just downloaded the APK from GitHub and it let me update it from the .32 version I installed via Izzyondroid - from the limited knowledge I have it’s because the fingerprint of the apps are the same.
Does this mean it won’t be an issue when Izzyondroid has .33, i.e. it will detect I’ve already installed it?
Thanks for all your hard work by the way. A good quality app is such an important thing to have in place to get people to use Lemmy. Reddit works perfectly fine on desktop via RES but the reality is most people browse it on their phone, hence all the drama at the moment.
that first time committer list is fire!
Yeah, the number of skilled android devs contributing now is unreal. We’re gonna loop past A LOT of reddit apps in two weeks at this rate.
I appreciate the blur nsfw. I’d like to make a suggestion. Can we have an option to black out nsfw posts. You can still make out what the images are with the blur.
Blacking out the image would help with avoiding meetings with hr.
Thanks for all the hard work! Jerboa is better in alpha than the official Reddit app ever was (or likely will be).
Its no probs. This one was all volunteer contributions by skilled android developers who just want to make the fediverse better. I’m extremely grateful to all of them.
Really appreciate the fast feedback and uptake from you & twizmwazin (I’m coming back to my topbar MR have it working somewhat now with the full app on my phone wifi paired or in the virtual device - has been a fun experience seeing the end to end Android dev setup for the first time after building software for 20 years!)
I’m not even joking when I say that this app, despite being in alpha, is a more pleasant experience than the official Reddit app.
- Jerboa has not begged me to turn on notifications
- Jerboa has not yelled at me for taking a screenshot or begged me to send it as a link to the site instead
- Jerboa has not warned me that I am “low on coins”
- Jerboa has not tried to make me create an NFT avatar
- Jerboa contains more formatting options in comments than the Reddit app (!)
- Jerboa is smart enough to autopopulate the link title when I highlight text to be converted to a link. Reddit app still lacks this feature (!)
