I like the single ultrawide, maybe with the laptop screen for a meeting app. Two monitors just feels like a compromise and for a little extra you can just remove the border entirely

Sure it can, you guys give Trump way too much credit
I do pay for games. I was just contesting your statement that there ate FOSS alternatives for everything.
I see, I guess my thought there is you don’t need video games to work or earn a living, a video game is a luxury and luxuries aren’t worth compromising integrity over. In fairness to all of you guys, I did my fair share of piracy when I was a kid, my sense is that as soon as you can afford software your tune suddenly changes because App Stores are a lot easier than whatever the kids are doing these days
You don’t think the people who make the games deserve your support? There is no need to play a game, you want to do it. You won’t lose your livelihood if you don’t launch Steam today get real. So if you desire the software, and they are asking for money, you really ought to honor that. Most game devs are just trying to make it like the rest of us, it’s not right to just take and take. Why do you think you’re owed stuff for free? It’s like you feel justified in stealing from Walmart because you’re broke. This argument that it doesn’t hurt anyone is irrelevant and not accurate. It’s one thing to not activate Windows, but I think most people on Steam need the money
Can confirm, bought a Brother MFP like five years ago with ink refills and I still have one left. Best $90 I ever spent
Such a shallow take, I think if you can’t afford the commercial software then there’s a whole ecosystem of FOSS you should be using instead. Way too much outstanding free software in the world to bother with piracy! My two cents is I don’t want to go anywhere that I’m not welcome, and if you can’t bother to pay the devs then you’re probably not welcome
You should take a look at GitHub Pages
Eventually AI will just generate a GUI for you. In the meantime, ShellGPT will write the shell commands for you. But for the most part, GUIs are a weird luxury and you should just learn some bash, it’ll make you feel better!
I’ve just worked for agencies that hire juniors and outsource. If you’ve seen what I’ve seen you’d change your tune
LLM costs $20 a month and needed only 60 hours of training, junior dev has been at it for years, costs as much for a half hour, and still needed me to repeatedly explain what a rectangle is
You definitely want it to enjoy the experience, otherwise it seems too risky to sit
OP is a horrible person and I hate him
It’s true! I wonder how it knew!!
Meanwhile, I’m enjoying the peaceful bliss of Memmy loading everything in reader mode
This happens in America too! My friend is a 30-something software engineer and a high pressure tactic had him trying to pay taxes with Amazon gift cards. He must have ignored a mountain of red flags
This dynamic does exist, but you have to build something useful to the likes of Debian and Redhat and that’s a tall order. You should look into Linux brew, it’s a community maintained package management system that might be more suitable for your scale https://docs.brew.sh/Homebrew-on-Linux
