  • Hotels are a lousy option for me and my family with small kids. We need an option where we can cook, play and be a family. I grew up using Intervac, which is a homeexchange service, where families from Germany, Austria, France etc lived in our house, whilst we lived in theirs. Now we do the same, but also need places to stay when we are driving down to the house where we are going to live.

Renting out your apt or house whilst you are on vacation is not eating up the cities, but speculating in it like many are doing with AirBnB, should be regulated/illegal.

  • is it really, when you can travel and stay wherever without paying a dime afterwards? This summer, me and my family are doing a car trip through Germany and France, staying at multiple houses (some with pools), without paying anything but that single fee. Also people staying at our house during that time, will water our plants and clean the house before they leave. Last year we did the same trip, but staying at AirBnBs where just a single night would cost around 100-200€. Also remember, the membership fee includes cancellation protection, damage coverage etc.
