Say it! Say it!
Say it! Say it!
Came here looking for this! I knew I couldn’t be the only fan of the Winchester. I first saw the movie playing at my neighbor dive bar, which was bunker like, and yep, could definitely get with the plan of holing up there until this all blew over.
All the scenes are great and hilarious no matter how many times I see this movie.
Fun fact: Have you seen Spaced? The old friend he comes across leading the group through the back fences is a character from a prior show they were both in together.
Bring back Firefly!
Same, I’m generally not a fan of seeing movies I’ve already seen, but Princess Bride, along with Moonrise Kingdom, are exceptions.
Wow, that’s an eclectic mix of rewatches! I’m with you on Alien.
Yeah I had to look it up and now recall learning about the theory! Funny what a brain forgets. My brain at least.
Right, so… Do gravitational waves theoretically travel at the speed of light? I studied physics way back in the 90s, I recall the universal gravitational constant, I don’t think gravity waves were a thing yet. I’m just trying to get an idea of the wavelength.
Edit: Yes, they are theorized to be light speed waves with a potential wavelength spanning the entire universe.
Shit like this makes me regret changing majors. I miss thinking about the fundamental nature of reality in mathematical terms.
This article says these particular gravitational waves have a frequency of perhaps a decade? Am I reading this right?
Well, I get your general point though tipping at a restaurant doesn’t quite work like that. You don’t get crappy service as a result of not tipping; you tip at the end of the service.
I tip 20% no matter how dismal the service, which is not the norm here. People have bad days and I don’t want to financially penalize them on top of it. It just feels shitty.
Yes, it does make you the asshole, especially because you know that’s what we do here and why we do it. Until living wage laws are passed, it’s not going to change.
I was wondering the same thing, especially because TOS is my favorite!! It’s only 3 seasons long, and for me each episode is an absolute gem.
Totally agree on Star Trek II being the best movie. TOS S1E22 explores the backstory of the film’s villain.
Sad as it is, I’ve given up even attempting discourse with them. I always believed that people could come to a mutual understanding given enough honest communication and fact based information. That’s before I move to the rural South. Logic holds no power here. Everything always defaults to their own personal interpretation of their religious texts where god is clearly telling them joe biden is in league with satan trying to usher in the antichrist and the rest of the pedo grooming marxist democrats are coming for their children, and then the world, to enslave the human race with global warming taxes and the mark of the beast… unless they vote trump. I am just… I can’t.
I live in a very rural part of a southern state and the majority of people around me are pro Trump christian conservatives. They went from decrying ‘1st amendment violations’ on old Twitter (even though it’s a corporation) to celebrating the recent wave of anti-lbgtq+ legislation sweeping across red states, though it actually does violate the 1st amendment, because ‘someone’s got to do something about the cultural rot.’
I am very relieved to see the courts not buying it and hope this trend continues.
Thanks for the warning! In general sex scenes don’t bother me and are easy to skip over if they do. Not letting that get in my way on this new adventure!
Thank you for the suggested reading order. I looked him up and saw he has written many many of books! Excited to discover a new (to me) sci fi author.
I haven’t read any Peter F. Hamilton books yet (though after reading this thread plan too!) but I have read all Gareth L. Powell books. He writes fun adventurous sci fi set in unique worlds. I love his books.
It is! I physically live in a vegan desert and reddit was one of the few places I found a community of like minded individuals.
Cool thanks! I’m going to give it a try. Honestly don’t know why it never occurred to me to make it before. I’ve been eating way too many frozen over-processed chix patties.
Bit torrenting is an example of peer to peer. Blockchain theoretically works this way too.
