A lot of it is due to the ideological education of this society. They can see, as anyone who bothers to look, that this country is messed up. The problem though is the immense anti-communist ideology in this society. So they are cut off from real solutions from the start. They’ve been taught that the solutions to the problems are the causes of the problems. The only answers they can see are down roads that will only make things worse instead of better.
I guess the way I understand it is that while the sanctions are still there without monitors they have a bit more room to maneuver.
That’s exactly why, they discovered that blatant fascism generates resistance. So they go for obscurant fascism, plausibly deniable fascism. As long as they can keep enough people thinking “it’s not that bad yet” they get to keep playing.
Here are the terms according to Quds News:
⭕️A ceasefire on both sides, a cessation of all military actions by occupation forces in all areas of the #Gaza Strip, and a cessation of the movement of its military vehicles penetrating into the Gaza Strip.
⭕️The entry of hundreds of trucks of humanitarian, relief, medical and fuel aid into all areas of the #Gaza Strip, without exception, in the north and south.
⭕️The release of 50 women and children of Israeli detainees, all under the age of 19 years, in exchange for the release of 150 women and children of Palestinian captives from Israeli prisons under the age of 19 years, depending on seniority.
⭕️Stopping all Israeli air traffic in the south for four days.
⭕️ Stopping all Israeli air traffic in the North for 6 hours a day, from 10:00 AM until 4:00 PM.
⭕️During the ceasefire period, the Israelis should be committed not to attack or arrest any Palestinian across the Gaza Strip.
⭕️ Ensuring freedom of movement of Palestinians (from north to south) along Salah El-Din Street.

Just recent events and the fact that I tend to have a depressive personality in general. When shit goes down like this it always messes me up.

Eh occasionally I’ll be scrolling the Internet and feel something on my face only to realize I’ve been silently crying for a couple of minutes now.
It shouldn’t be surprising that a couple days after this they made this post.
It is easy to support failed attempts because then they can imagine that this time those folks would have done things “perfectly” or in other words, the way the person imagining it would have done things. Without any of the messy details of having to work in the real world with real conditions.
I would say it depends on what you mean by want in this case. Think of it like in the case of Korea. Did DPRK want a divided Korea? No, but they also didn’t want to be under the thumb of the West.
