Well, to get humans to space today you have either the crew dragon on a SpaceX falcon 9, or a Soyouz.

And relations with Russia are a bit tense nowadays, so if you are not Russian, there are currently no other options than SpaceX.

I’m very sad they are closing shop, but I understand it.

I find their last DLC awfully expensive, but I think I’ll buy them anyway, as I really loved all their games (bought desperados 3 day 1, same for shadow gambit, and no regrets).

Their games were crafted with love, and it shows. If you haven’t, go and try them on, it’s a fun genre.

I started playing because I had nostalgia for the commandos games, but they really refined the gameplay and made the different difficulty modes so everyone can have fun.

I highly recommend it, its a very good game.

That’s not old-arse as far as I’m concerned, and I don’t see the need for an upgrade. I’m going to install Linux on this PC because I have the know-how and desire to check out how electron fares. But I can see how that is not an option for everyone.

Regarding “the company made the new tech incompatible with the new tech to force people to buy the new”, I’ll invoke Hanlon’s razor.

I worked for a software company that was bought out by a microscope company, because they realized making a new software from scratch for each microscope was very expensive.

They did not have the know-how to reuse the software.

And yes. They were that bad at software, when they bought us out, colleagues of mine audited the software they were writing for their newest microscope, and it was so bad they threw out the whole thing to start from scratch, with proper software engineering practices.

Also, there is an open source toolkit that is pretty good at reading microscope data called VTK (IIRC it’s developed partly by Zeiss, one of the two main microscope manufacturers).

The kippa is forbidden in french schools for this very same reason, it signals religion.

Loose fitting dresses are not forbidden, abayas are. They are a specific kind of loose fitting dresses. One that signals religion.

I disagree, the Abaya is not just a flowing robe.

It is a garment that is required by the Sharia law (see Saudi Arabia and other Muslim countries where women are not allowed to choose what they wear).

Factorio is one of the very few games that has a demo though.

The free demo allows you to figure out if you enjoy the mechanics of the game, and if you don’t, you do not end up with more bloat in your library.

I completely agree with the incentive, and in some countries there are.

For instance in France, there are government helps for buying ebikes.

I bought a moonlander by ZSA about a year ago.

I found the split allows for a much more relaxed position while writing, and being able to adjust the halves individually when I reposition myself is very comfortable.

They also have the benefit of having thumb clusters, giving more work to the strongest finger of the hand.

Another benefit I find is that most split keyboards are fully programmable, which makes customizing it to your needs very nice.

The only drawback I find to this keyboard (apart from the price, which is not cheap) is that it is hefty, and not easy to transport. The fact that it is wired clutters a bit the desktop, if this is something that concerns you.

I recently built a corne low profile yo have something more transportable and wireless, but this is much more involved, as the configuration goes through writing code and not a nice UI.

However the comfort of this new board is very nice.

There was a whole subreddit dedicated to ergonomcal keyboards, ErgoMechKeyboards, which is very interesting to browse, as what I have done is seen as extreme by my coworkers, but tame compared to what some people are do.
