Works with anything plugged into the wall. Software developer most of the time. Helped start a makerspace once.
Will talk about Linux, plants, space, retro games, and anything else I find interesting.
Well that sucks NVM.
That’s neat! I knew about the bsd origins but I didn’t know they allow other oses now.
I have not ironically used the steam deck for amateur satellite tracking before. Its more suited for that purpose than a laptop in the field lol.
Is steam deck a console? From this gen?
Either way it’s pretty good. You don’t even need to run their os if you don’t want to.
I have over 300 hours still going. It’s only if you like that kind of game.
Is there a good resource to find out where to look?
Peglin is great.
I’m waiting for this to go on sale. Looks to be fun!
Interesting first I’ve heard of this new chip.
Im a dev. But you do you. GL!
Excellent! Thanks. Ill take a look at it sometime. https://github.com/LemmyNet/lemmy/issues/818
Last time I checked, there was still discussion on how people want this to work. Because its easy to say, but hard to get everyone to agree.
I would love to get a fairphone. Its just 4x the price of everything else. I cant possibly afford it here in the US.
Community collections should be a thing. Something like /cc/Technology could pull in lemmy.world/ other instances and collections of communities. It makes it easier if one instance dies, an instance de-federates itself, or just wanting to consolidate all the different /c/Technology
communities across instances.
It would also be nice if communities had the option to vote on their admins once in a while. Having individuals lord over different communities is a problem in reddit.

Ive done that but just wifi. It works. Its more of a “for fun” kinda deal. I cant get rid of my smart phone because of a couple of necessary apps for work.
The CPAP lockout is something I went through. The company behind my CPAP does not allow you to get ANYTHING off the device. But there is an SD Card that you can get all the info you want from your old system. Its arbitrarily locked out.
You are also unable to repair anything on the device without insurance getting involved. And insurance is often at OEM prices (think 200+ for a basic mask). Thankfully, people have illegally added STLs/chips/parts/etc… online that you can basically reverse engineer the entire device nowadays. As long as you use medical safe materials, it saves you literally thousands of dollars. Ive replaced quite a few parts and the device is still working after many years of usage.
Im not sure what you mean.
Itch.io and GOG are great alternatives.
Nice! I hope they go down in price at some point.
Apologies but what am I looking at here. Looks cool, some kind of AR glasses with the steam deck? Im a bit lost.
Sega genisis if we are talking real hardware. Followed by Gameboy.
Lately I’ve been loving my miyoo mini plus and steam deck combo. They are both retro game powerhouses.
Yeah my positive take is this might be a good excuse for people to think of repairability again.
Because, you know, if very little new chips being made in the near future, we are going to have to.
