The built-in touchscreen paired with the RK3588 and some generous I/O is pretty cool. Slick case and UI to boot.

A big thank you to the community for funding this important development work!
Pretty odd that CoinMarketCap owned CoinGecko News (https://web.archive.org/web/20240101072011/https://www.coingecko.com/en/news) has zero articles about the Monero situation on their top feed at this time.
This is factually incorrect. Binance purchased CoinMarketCap in April of 2020. CoinGecko is an independent cryptocurrency data aggregator.
Not Lora or Helium, but you might be interested in the Althea network. They’re a payment layer powering infrastructure & connectivity that provides blockchain-enabled internet access to thousands of homes across challenging topographies.
Monero can be regulated and, for tax purposes, handled similar to cash transactions.
Thank you for the write-up, I really appreciate it. You make some excellent points. Consider bringing this up in the CCS proposal discussion.
Can you expound on that and perhaps share some examples of your latter point?
Yep, that’s the Wikipedia entry for decentralization. I’ve done some work editing the Monero entry.
Decentralization means we need people running monerod on their phones, laptops, at their homes, and in data centers.
All nodes aren’t owned by a couple of hosting providers, but the plethora of hosting providers can contribute to decentralization.
I’d posit that it is good for the network. Decentralization means running on all number of hosting providers from AWS, OHV, and Linode to smaller providers like KYUN and, perhaps most importantly, home servers.
I hope your serve the community well and earn a reputation for being a trusted organization.
As shortwavesurfer noted monerod also utilizes seed nodes. The user is able to specify their own seeds with the --seed-node flag. It’s also possible to add other nodes with --add-priority-node or --add-peer
