This is it. Saving and loading anywhere is actually a difficult thing to get right as its easy to exploit and/or break. Depending on the game’s design it could be a real nightmare to solve.

I keep seeing the “well its got nudity what did they expect” take and saw this article that talks about the meta-narrative and theme:

It being weird and uncomfortable is the point - Though obviously its not meant to be a game for everyone.

Its more likely they increased the price and immediately starting shaking down anyone who was paying for the old license price. Its a frustrating scummy tech company “strategy” that unfortunately works because someone at a developer or publisher will be willing to pay the hike if it means avoiding any legal battle.

Similar here - The grip League of Legends has on people is terrifying.

So far the biggest issues I’ve faced are League of Legends and funky network driver issues. One of those I can work at, the other not so much.

I’ve seen prototypes of RPGs where you could freeform talk to NPCs and I pretty quickly lost enthusiasm for the idea after seeing it in action.
It didn’t feel like a DnD game where you’re maneuvering a social conflict with the DM or other players, it felt more like the social equivalent of jumping up on a table where an NPC couldn’t get to you and stabbing them in the face.

I got several, I’ve found that some people really think about what I like in a game and nail a recommendation and some people just recommend things they liked, regardless how I feel on them.
The big ones would be Breath of the Wild and Helldivers 2.
Would you watch a show where humans meet oyster shaped aliens who vibrate to communicate and who get excited by vocal notes that are B flat and get enraged by succulent plants? That’s plausibly alien right? How about every episode 20+ times a season, some new totally alien thing every time? (Sorry for the ridiculous example alien, in my defense I am very tired)
Humanoid emotions/body language and motives make for generally easier to understand stories that are more compelling.
You could not ask philosophical questions or have difficult plot decisions without having some common ground in logic/rationality/motives.
