But we can say shit on the internet, and the world is pretty terrible.

I drew it, cuz I like pokeymans.
“Cel” stands for celluloid, which was used and painted on for classic animation (which popularized the simple flat color painting style that you see imitated in modern cel-shading).
Rest in peace. One of the biggest influences of my childhood. Sad to hear he’s gone, but what a life he’d had. <3
Yeah - I’m currently playing solo so I can progress at my own pace.
I bought it about 6 hours ago and am only taking a break cuz I was hungry and needed to use the restroom. Then I’ll probably play some more until I get too sleepy.
I’m having a blast with the game. It feels like a mix between Pokémon and Valheim.
No real bugs encountered so far. The only bug I’ve experienced since I’ve started playing is that respawning at my base places me inside some vertical terrain, and that’s partially my fault for needing to place objects so close to the walls that they’re practically clipping.
When browsing comments on Lemmy, I would see what looked to be top-level comments that were clearly replies to another comment, but the comment it was responding to wouldn’t be displayed. After this kept happening, I decided to try viewing the thread through another app (i may have been using an account from another lemmy instance, which I’m guessing may be pertinent) and then I would be able to see the actual top-level comment that was being responded to.
Nicotine is a vasoconstrictor, which elevates blood pressure by causing your blood vessels to constrict.
I’m using Memmy, Voyager, and Mlem.
I started with Memmy, but then started favoring Voyager, which was said to be the closest to Apollo in functionality and design. Then i noticed that Voyager always omitted comments from a certain instance, so I’d only get one side of the conversation, so I switched to favoring Mlem, which I’m really enjoying at the moment.
Now that I’ve given it a try, I think that I would continue using Mlem even if Voyager fixed that particular issue. It has a really nice level of polish and hasn’t had any issues with crashing, unlike Liftoff or Thunder, which I’ve dropped completely.
I’m partial to the Judges’ guns, particularly from the Urban-led movie, as I’ve not delved much into the comics.
Also, I think this falls more into the fantasy category, but I love the chonkiness of Hellboy’s Samaritan.
Haha, any kind of ink works for me, as long as I can draw with it! Also, I’m always looking for art communities on Lemmy, so I just joined!
Currently, I’m doing studies of mechanical joints and greebles to improve my ability to draw hard surface stuff (e.g. mechs, vehicles, inorganic constructs), and I’m also drawing a shitpost meme when I need to take a break from studying! :)
Mine is drawing. I’ve had other hobbies and have other things that I enjoy doing, but drawing is the most engaging thing for me. Your standards always outpace your ability, so there’s never a moment when you feel like you’ve accomplished everything you could’ve accomplished. There’s always something new to draw or learn about.
This is so annoying. It goes into a full screen ad as soon as you turn it on, so I babysit the remote and navigate to an app as soon as it turns on, in order to avoid ads. It also does this if you let the TV idle, which I also hate. I might just throw it away and go back to hooking up a laptop to the TV instead. I paid $70-ish bucks for this stupid thing.
Edit: I just remembered that you can hack these fire sticks, so i’ll probably try that first.
Earth is the only planet that we’re adapted to live on. Nowhere else will be as forgiving of our mistakes.
[email protected] is a decent, general purpose art-centric community. People submit their personal art work, and the skill level seems to have a pretty broad range, which I like.
Others, like !traditional_art, !Digitalart, etc. seem to have a high bar when it comes to submitting art, so I think that those types of communities tend to center more on sharing/posting others’ artwork (i.e., professional/advanced artists, etc.)
There are other ones like !drawing and !learntodraw where the focus isn’t so much on quality/finished artwork, but the community seems dead.
"The Mexican alligator lizard (Abronia graminea), also known as the green arboreal alligator lizard, is an endangered species of lizard endemic to the Sierra Madre de Oaxaca highlands of Mexico. It can be found in the states of Puebla, Veracruz, and Oaxaca. It was originally described under the genus Gerrhonotus as Gerrhonotus gramineus by Edward D. Cope in 1864.
The Mexican alligator lizard adopts an arboreal lifestyle and is commonly found inhabiting the bromeliads among mesic cloud or pine-oak forest canopies. This habitat offers a humid temperate climate with summer rains. The preferred diet of this species is a variety of insects. Colour patterns of the Mexican alligator lizard can range from bright emerald green to dark teal blue; juvenile colouration is a tan ground colour with dark crossbands.
The IUCN rates the Mexican alligator lizard as endangered. Decline of the species is mainly the result of habitat fragmentation due to fire, deforestation, and land use change for agriculture. Illegal trafficking for the pet trade has also contributed to the status of this species."
Well I appreciate you going out of your way to let me know. :T
This has been working for me, so here it is:
When you’re ready to fall asleep, pick a five to seven letter word (it can be longer if you can keep track of the letters). (e.g. - “Candle”)
For each letter, pick an animal. (e.g. - “C is for Cat”)
To the best of your ability, try and picture that animal in as much detail as you think is appropriate. (e.g. - “It’s seated but not laying down. It has cinnamon-colored fur, short. Its nose is pink, etc.”
Move on to the next letter and do steps 2 & 3 for each letter.
If you finish a word, pick another word, and repeat the same process.
Apparently this mimics the random-ish thought pattern that precedes sleep, and supposedly signals to your brain that the environment is safe enough to sleep.
I forget where I picked this up. This was just one of those things where you go, “Oh - that sounds interesting. I’ll guess I’ll give it a shot if I happen to remember it when I’m trying to fall asleep.” It wasn’t something that I ever really expected to work for me.
