Need banana for scale
There’s something out there waiting for us, and it ain’t no man. We’re all gonna die.
Perhaps the GP missed in details the first paragraph of the article in which it mentions that while google indeed is backing away from its more general “environment integrity API” for the web, it is perhaps still pursuing a version of this for android devices.
I have to second Prince’s guitar on “while my guitar gently weeps.” Phenomenal.
Also the Talking Heads’ “stop making sense” concert film is very well done:
Bot left out this important bit:
Food waste causes 58% of the methane emissions that come from landfills
Seems like it would be worth the effort to find a different source for your sports feed, since otherwise you’re supporting twitter
Second paragraph of the “Abilities” section:
…after the first production I had to add something to the play at the request of parents (who thus showed that they thought me the responsible person) about no one being able to fly until the fairy dust had been blown on him; so many children having gone home and tried it from their beds and needed surgical attention. – J. M. Barrie
Oh wow, excellent; thanks!
It was me, but the good news is it was delicious, so good job!
Pink Floyd, Radiohead, Sonic Youth, Pixies, Neil Young, Beck, Prince
“Fuck yeah!”
One of these (lines) is not like the others
(Edit: I should say however that this is regardless horrifying)
This poll is likely very skewed because anyone who bothers to respond is probably doing so because they have a (hate) agenda. The text of the first question could probably have been replaced with “I want to say I am a christian fascist without saying it out loud” and have the same outcome.
‘murca!
This is related to the diminishing energy returns on energy invested (see ERoEI). It’s a measure of how much energy it takes (say 1 barrel of oil) to extract a certain amount of energy (also say 1 barrel of oil). When the first barrels of oil were extracted long ago the ERoEI was somewhere around 100, meaning you only needed to use one barrel of oil to extract 100 barrels. Last I heard, it was down to 10. If that reaches 1 then it’s basically game over for oil. There is still lots of oil far underground/undersea but it costs too much to extract.
Looks like you’re heading in a great direction
Seems like the footpath equivalent of this
