I think it will have impact a lot sooner than 20 years. As soon as no one can trace the next listeria or salmonella outbreak, or evenrecognize there is a flu epidemic happening, or whatever. There will be kids dieing from bad ice cream before summer is over.

Sending US arms to Ukraine is less about Ukraine than it is giving money to the US arms manufacturers. I’m sure those influential military industrial complex fat cats will find ways to keep the cash flowing - even if they have funnel it through someone else.

Here in a red state, when I venture into the real world, I still see Trump flags everywhere. Much more so than I recall in 2016. They definitely have upped their merchandise game. On the other hand I see many more Harris/Walz signs than I ever saw in support of Clinton. When I talk to people I get much more passion about Harris than I ever heard about Clinton or Biden. It is more akin to Obama’s first term, if not even more intense. This time around Trump is vehemently disliked. During Trump’s first campaign he was a disruptor and there was a lot of curiosity about what that meant. That has been replaced with fear and hatred. My few remaining social media friends who support Trump seem to do so from a religious point of view. Somehow they see him as more godly.

Toxic jobs really take a toll on your health, especially if you feel trapped in them. Looking for a new job is really a full time job on itself, it can be hard to do so while already working a full time job. If you feel your job is toxic you should start looking for something new right away - whether you’ve given notice or not. I’ve ended up in the hospital twice from the toll toxic jobs that I felt trapped in took on me. Another thing you can consider is diversifying your income. Ie, a “side hustle”. If you have more than one income stream you won’t be quite as trapped. You also will have something to help buffer the transition between your real jobs.

I would have liked some comments explaining the rules we are trying to enforce or a link to the product requirements for it. Changing the rules requirements is the most likely reason this code will ever be looked at again. The easier you can make it for someone to change them the better. Another reason to need to touch the code is if the user model changes. I suppose we might also want a different password hash or to store the password separately even a different outcome if the validation fails. Or maybe have different ruled for different user types. When building a function like this I think less about “ideals” and more about why someone might need to change what I just did and how can I make it easier for them.

In my case it isn’t broken. It is firmly attached to the toilet. It has a slow closing lid. Lastly, for the first time I tried a wooden, instead of plastic, core. The seat doesn’t feel as cold, and just feels solid. It is the little things. The last seat lasted at least 10 years, so the difference in price between the cheap one at $26 and the premium one at $35 wasn’t really a factor.
I replaced a toilet seat in our house and the new one is really nice ( at least compared to the old one ).
