we just picked up a new intern this month. they did ok in the interview but it was mostly that their dad works with us that they got a job this summer. this week while we were waiting for a meeting to start one of the other devs asked him about the tools he typicaly uses.
he started talking about these vibe coding IDEs and i had to look them up. WTF! but now it is all making sense. who goes to a 4 year uni getting a cs degree and can’t navigate a terminal? this is going to be a long summer.
i remember being in an interview for a new marketing leador my dev team. the dude had 13 jobs over 10 years. to me that was the bigge;t of red flags. dude got hired in spite of my protest.
i cannot think ok a worse employee i have ever worked with an i once had a boss embezzle $100k before skipping town.
I feel like we are slowly getting to the situation the Three Stooges were in where they all owe each other money. Bots make the numbers go up which gets investors interested giving money to the company. C levels make money which they invest in other companies who’s numbers are boosted by bots and this cycle begins again.
