Frankly it’s disgusting that we’re not allowed to hunt the gays for sport.

Apparently Germany’s problem is that they run all the high-speed trains on the normal lines which means all of the normal trains have to work around them. Obviously you can’t have a normal train in front of a high-speed train so if the high-speed train is delayed by even a small amount it has a knock-on effect where a bunch of local service trains have to sit around waiting for the line to clear.

Everyone else runs high-speed rail on their own tracks. So everyone gets to do what they want and not affect anybody else.

The French do it better than the Germans, which is just not an acceptable state of affairs.

I never really understand why historically trains were so rare in the US. They had loads of trains at one point left over from the industrial Revolution and then they seemed to decide to get rid of them all. Even Beaching didn’t shut down that many lines

Presumably if there was an arrest warrant out for you there’s a chance they might do something, but then again they are French so you’d have to catch them at a good time.

Personally I think they’ve made a mistake running any candidates in local elections. Now everyone will see they’re all hot air and snide comments, but lack any actual ability to govern, obey the law or even simply read the room.

You do realise that the whole point of the United Nations is so that things like that this don’t happen anymore. Of course that presupposes everybody’s going to play nicely. Deals with Russia aren’t worth the paper written on, vis-a-vis Ukraine.

So how can we not be at war with an entity so fundamentally untrustworthy. You are complaining that the West is at war with Russia (as if the Western democracies are a united front) but that’s because Russia is constantly breaking the rules. If they just stayed within their own borders that wouldn’t be a problem.

Your problem is that you’ve already decided who is right and who is wrong and you’re not going to allow anything like reality to get in the way of that.

Yes which is what I’m proposing. But that’s not what they’re talking about they’re talking about a totally separate ID card with no real reason for its existence.

He won’t though because although what he did is immoral it wasn’t illegal. After all the president of the United States authorised these actions they must be legal.

Financially he’s going to suffer but there’s nothing in law that can be done to him.

That’s the problem with the ID card idea, it doesn’t solve a problem. Obviously it proves who you are, but there are so many other documents that are already needed that also do that there’s no point.

If we got rid of driving licences and just had an ID card that everyone had, and then when you got a licence it just got added as information onto the card, then they would have a point. But that isn’t what they’re proposing, they’re proposing a second card that does the exact same job as the driving licence that I’m already required to carry.

Oh it’s that time of the year again, where they start talking about governmental ID cards for the 57th time.

It’s an entirely okay phone. But it’s overpriced and frankly far too smug with itself.

Every time they come out with a new phone I always check it out in the vague hope that they’ve actually come up with something interesting and innovative, but they never have, it’s always basically just a service Android phone with a transparent back and LED lights that don’t really do anything.

Put an e-ink display on the back or something come on, be as interesting as you claim to actually be.

The worst one is when you wake up having drunk a little bit too much and you can’t find your glasses. You are now effectively blind and helpless and hungover.
