Yeah. There’s variants of this from capitalist parents who do the first part, then follow up with some shit like “then I take half their allowance for taxes, that’s communism baby!”
It’s crazy when you talk to conservative Christians and they’re like charity should do all the helping. Why the middle man? Let’s just help them regardless
Under no pretext should arms or legs be surrendered (skipped)
It was definitely more critical than I was expecting. Surprising how many on the project dissented to its usage. I guess most had expected to use it against Germany while they were actively fighting. The red scare definitely looked like the needless witch hunt it was. Wartime seems to excuse many deplorable behaviours
I was curious if he was actually more friendly to communism than portrayed or not. It did seem like he was sympathetic to the cause, but I wouldn’t be surprised if he downplayed it after going through all those interrogations.
I don’t know enough about the CPUSA at the time, but I’d imagine they did more than drink and dance. I did like the way they portrayed the hiding of knowledge as problematic, and that sharing discoveries is how innovation really happens, not markets monopolising patents
Yeah, I think communists in the movie were painted fairly favourably, and McCarthyism of the error was less so. I do feel like they intentionally left out Einstein’s socialist preference, but who’s to say
Most western liberals are primarily focused on social issues because of the media narrative centering those issues as the dividing line. The American two party duopoly does not want people thinking about actual economic policies to help the working class, it would make the masses realize they are much more alike than either sides ruling class
Lmao. This time next year let’s shoot for number 1
Being more environmentally friendly and cheaper? Where is he pulling that from?
Inventing a new technology from more or less scratch will be way more expensive. And I feel like they’d be comparable environmentally if they are both electric
I was thinking population, and therefore users of the OS. I feel like a lot of western companies are already bending over to tap into the Chinese markets, so if they had to support Linux to do that for software, maybe they would.
Yes! Having the worlds largest country run on Linux would do wonders for its adoption. If all the western business partners just stopped accepting windows files and started distributing Linux packages, it would accelerate adoption elsewhere.
And draw the line there? Or what about instances that federate with instances federated with meta? I think defederating meta is more than enough
Only two layers of sanitizers? Gosh might as well just put your social security number out there
I went to Vail recently, and I had to take a shuttle from Denver. I was shocked when I got up there and there was all sorts of tracks from old mining operations. Why wouldn’t they repurpose those for new trains? The tracks are already there that’s half the battle
They mention wanting a new networking stack, I didn’t see a comment section there; but I’d recommend tailscale (or headscale for self hosting). It’s a wire guard based mesh network, but has worked very well for me
You have an off by one bug, the format of the commands says “0-9/0-9/0-9” but your columns and rows are labelled 1-9, you either need to zero index your board or 1 index the commands you give.
I feel like most regulatory bodies in the US have a massive lack of knowledge of modern industry practices. Or are willing complicit in the anti-consumer practices
I’m perhaps exaggerating, but yeah cars have some use cases. They are just aggressively overprescribed as the tool for everything rather than only as needed
There’s a reason democrats are known as liberals. They support capitalism in large part, and that comes with some nice bribes, err i mean lobbying
