I have a friend who is hard of hearing (completely deaf in one year, has 30% hearing in the other), and if her headset malfunctions it’s the only way she can hear a phone call.
Granted, most people who do this in public this isn’t their situation.

There are still a lot of “old school” people in charge of these companies who think if they can’t see you “working” with their own two eyeballs, that they are not.
I can’t wait to see what the spike in gas prices here in the US will bring.

I know plenty of people in my wider social circle who either chose not to have children, waited until they were older and had more of a financial buffer, or only have one when they wanted multiple due to costs. Also, there are now studies to indicate adverse affects of COVID (both active and affects from previous exposure, or “long COVID”) on fertility and negative birth outcomes.

I’ve been slowly working my way through my first run of Metroid Prime 4: Beyond. I haven’t played any of the Metroid Prime games in a long time, and it’s interesting how it has changed yet it has not.

Increased party limit always feels too OP for me, but the banter is a big upside. Every play through I hear banter or dialogue that I had never heard before and I’m slowly making my way through my 4th run, trying to make my way through each origin character after my first run as a tav.
Oh no! ☹️ How frustrating to loose all that work. I’ve been trying to get back into writing myself. I find my mind has adapted to technical writing for my professional life, but creative writing eludes me. I had a LiveJournal back in the day and maybe getting back to something like that might help. What kinds of stories do you like to write?
Which english translation are you reading? I haven’t read Crime and Punishment but it’s on my list.
HTML is the first language I ever learned. We all have to start somewhere! Keep at it. Node.js and Python are on my list of things to learn but I only have so many brain cells in a given day it seems.
Lately my listening habits have been leaning pretty goth/darkwave. Vision Video is one of my favorites, they broke up last year but I’m eager to see what the members of the band come up with on the next thing. Been also listening to The Damned, Sisters of Mercy, Pink Turns Blue, Twin Tribes and Some Days are Darker.
What kind of media has had your interest lately?
Hi! I’m a professional tech nerd with coding background who is building a home media server and I’m pretty eclectic in my music tastes. I also game occasionally (BG3 and Cyberpunk 2077 were the last two I played through). Been scouring thrift stores lately for music and DVDs

I finished Splatoon 3’s single player adventure and likely taking a break from it for a while. I found it far better than Splatoon 2 which I still haven’t finished. Haven’t tried the DLC yet.

Gitea is awesome and fairly easy to get up and running.

Proton’s response which IMO is pretty rational all things considered https://www.reddit.com/r/ProtonMail/comments/1nd1nrc/is_that_true/

I am ready for the heat to die down. We had one morning where it was actually a bit cool right at sunrise and it made me emotional.
My job has been difficult, but my search for something different in my very niche field yielded no results. Far fewer jobs out there than I remember seeing even just last year. There are budget cuts where I work on the horizon where they are only filling critical positions and just letting multiple positions remain vacant. It looks like I’ll doing the work of two people for the foreseeable future.
Someone I’m close with owns and operates a restaurant that puts out high quality food, but at home they mostly live off of grocery store frozen pizza and rotisserie chicken.

That’s fair. I’ve also noticed dialogue in places that assumes you are not the origin character you are playing, or ignores when specific characters are not in your party.
When you recruit Minsc as Shadowheart, there is a place in the dialogue tree where you refer to yourself in third person.
There was a line suggesting I ask Lae’zel about a githyaki slate in Act 1 when I chose to kill her instead of join her earlier in the game.
I wonder if the difference is because Karlach was a later addition to the game as an origin character.

I’m very slowly working my way through my fifth Baldurs’s Gate 3 run since it went from early access to release. Decided I want to do all the origin characters and make decisions as they would.
I’ve already done Gale, evil Dark Urge and now Shadowheart (spoilers below)
In the beginning, I didn’t have Shadowheart save Lae’zel from the tieflings when she’s captured because to me she would want to be as far away from the githyanki as possible. I chose to romance Karlach because I never had before, and in my headcanon Karlach swayed Shadowheart from choosing Shar. Romanced the emperor and am going to try siding with him on a play through because I never have before lol
I find something I missed on every single play through, and so far there is enough unique content in the origin runs to keep them interesting. Not sure which origin character I will try next but I am really enjoying playing as Shadowheart.
Edit - I loved Cyberpunk 2077! At some point I want to replay as male V.

I echo others, bank it as an emergency fund in the event income does not cover the monthly costs. Could even throw a bit of it as a bonus to those who run the servers.

I am surprised he vetoed it. Broken clock and all that.

I just finished Cult of the Lamb. To was a quick buy satisfying play through. I love the snappy roll/dodge mechanic.
I’ve had a lot of gaming time on my hands being sick all weekend. I started another Sims4 game and have been playing the new Tomadochi Life on Switch. I think I enjoy the relationship system on Tomadochi life better, but speedrunning relationships does have its place with limited game time.
I’m trying a 100 baby challenge with the updated rules so I’ll see how far I get before I fail or get tired of it. Taking care of babies feels way more grind-y now since the last time I tried this.
Also, I’m super stoked for Paralives early access on May 25th.
