Even employees who took the job because they genuinely believe in reducing crime are not insulated from the cumulative weight of week after week of public hostility.
Yeah, I’m sure they got a job installing surveillance cameras due to some sense of moral duty.
There’s no teeth behind those laws for the bourgeoisie. There never really was. The US imperial machine kept the food and trinkets coming in abundance while maintaining profit growth so there was no need for for them to take such extreme measures. Now that the machine is falling apart, imperialism is being directed inward to secure their position over the proletariat and continue profit growth. They’re looting what they can before the whole thing collapses. The mask is coming off and the contradictions of the system are being laid bare.
