Had been using RIF for a long while as well and recently realized that it really was like a screen that managed to filter the worst of it if you knew how to customize your experience. Without that, there’s no point anymore. The Fediverse has its own learning curve, but it will be worth it just to find the instance and comms I’ll be most comfortable in.
This is me too! I can be the quiet type even online. I enjoy sitting back and reading the discussion more than participating. Let’s see if I can break the habit though.
