We just had another “vote strategic” moment that resulted in all of the minor parties losing influence just to keep the conservatives out of power. Trudeau’s biggest lasting failure will be his inability to actually pass vote reform like he promised, and FPTP will eventually result in us graduating from US-light to full on US-two-party-ism.

They have godlike powers thanks to the heart, but they are referred to as false gods by all the Deadric gods you interact with.
Heck, the main quest is basically Azura using you as her vessel to expose the falsity of the Tribunal’s claim to godhood.
Although, if you go one level deeper and you buy into Vivec actually achieving Chim, then it could be argued he is at least as godlike as Talos (who used his understanding of Chim to retcon the actual history of Tamriel). Which is another can of worms, because his godhood is also questioned and the whole reason his worship was outlawed in the white-gold concordant…
Oh Elder Scrolls lore, how I love your convoluted nature.

ZC3rr0r@lemmy.cato Patient Gamers@sh.itjust.works•Name a game game: "...and then it ends with you fighting A GOD."26·7 months agoTo some extent the majority of JRPGs fit into this trope. It’s a long running joke that it isn’t a JRPG if you don’t end up fighting a god with the power of friendship.

Great story with choices that actually matter. OP, do yourself a favor and play this without a guide.

But when this game came out, it was an experience and a half. Unlike anything I had seen before at least. Sure, Ultima, TES 2, etc all existed. But none of them had never sold their world so effectively if you ask me.

If it were added to this meme, it’d have a reaction somewhere between the Supra and the Eclipse. Something like “oh, okay”.
ZC3rr0r@lemmy.cato Cars - For Car Enthusiasts@lemmy.world•I'll never forgive Mitsubishi for what they did to the EclipseEnglish7·9 months agoWhat do you mean? At least the new WRX is still a sedan, still AWD, still has a boxer, and can still be bought as a manual.
Sure, it’s making about the same horsepower as 20 years ago, and it got progressively heavier as Subaru needed to add more safety equipment to remain compliant, but it’s nowhere near as bad as Ford and Mitsubishi taking legendary name plates and slapping them on crossover SUVs.

Its U-turn has been dramaticEnglish5·9 months agoHaving lived and worked in several countries, I think the concept of Jantelagen is rooted in the Protestant Reformation more than it being a specifically Nordic thing. Not only does it fit well with the general premise of the Protestant worldview, all countries that were early converts seem to have ingrained that particular perspective (under various names) in their collective cultures.
This sounds like a lot of fun. Enough to convince me to buy the PC port of the game at least. Can’t wait to try it out!

Why brick a bunch of perfectly functional devices and create a massive amount of e-waste in the process?
Why not just freeze WMR in place, stop feature development, but keep the functionality around? I can’t imagine bug fixing and driver updates cost Microsoft any substantial amount of resources, given how they pretty much dropped doing any of that after 2022.
It makes no sense to me and feels like management wanting to make a statement, more than a reasonable business decision. Especially since this move directly conflicts their stated sustainability goals and directives.
It’s almost like the company is trying really hard to wash their hands clean of the HoloLens exec they fired for misconduct a while ago in the most scorched earth way possible or something.
Wow. I am shocked. Who could’ve guessed an expansionist regime would break a truce with the intent to continue their territorial expansion. This must be the first time in recorded history this has happened. /s
