It really depends on what they are into.
Ideally it will be something short and self contained. I’ll start with the gold standard for recommendations: “Cowboy Bebop”

If they want something light-hearted and comedic, “Spy X Family” is a good one
“Vinland Saga” for something heavier and more serious

For fantasy fans there’s “Frieren” and “Delicious in Dungeon”, even if both are part 1 of a larger story
if they want fantasy aimed at someone younger, then “Little Witch Academia” is a good pick

If they want a combo of sports and romance, I thought “Yuri on Ice” was top tier.

I had read about the cancelled Superman game, Blue Steel, and its sad that it was never given a shot. Superman in city-destroying brawls with Braniac/Zod/Darkseid or Wonder Woman fighting mythical Greek beasts in a modern setting just seems like a game that should already exist.

With so many big name DC heroes, you’d think we’d be getting big budget games about them constantly, but outside of the Batman Arkham games we don’t have much to show for it in recent history.

Marvels got a whole bunch of cool stuff in progress: Wolverine, Captain America, Black Panther games. On top of its successful Spider Man games, and they hit Marvel Rivals that just launched. But its crickets from DC.

Slime movies are kinda mid, except for Diablo who is always gold. Here’s to more Diablo content.

Any move away from opiods is a great step for medicine. Not just in that they are addictive, but also that they do not work on a sub-set of the population.

Scientist Russian Roulette: Drink the mystery breaker. They all have water, except for one that’s hydroflouric acid.

Writing has never been Borderlands strong suit, and I don’t expect it to get any better. The story will be bad, the dialogue will be bad, the jokes will be bad. They hit gold once with Borderlands 2, and never again. Will the gameplay be good? That’s the real question.
