I am not convinced the glorified search engines we now call “AI” will shortly, less than 10yrs, lead to AGI. Far more worried about famine, flood, disease, war etc negatively impacting my life.

The book was satire.

This glimmer of hope is wonderful and I wish them all the luck in the world in succeeding.

I left my last job because they mandated two days in office every month. They said it was to “promote team unity”. I kindly pointed out that: 1.) They renewed office space leases during COVID lockdowns and clearly didn’t want to pay for space that wasn’t being used. 2.) Every other person on my team was on the opposite coast as me. 3.) And finally I pointed out the recent offshoring of services, back office and customer facing, clearly showed my position would get the axe sooner than later, I was back office.

They really didn’t like that.

If I wasn’t stuck in this hellhole I’d find joy in that.

It can wait all it wants but little old me will die before I go back to working in an office.

Can’t wait for AI to take over government function and see all the ways people post about how to get it to do things it shouldn’t. Government waste and fraud will skyrocket worse than a kleptocracy on crack.

TL;DR Don’t bother. The only reason to stick with Samsung was the smart stylus and they killed it in favor of bad AI.

Personally I’m now thinking Pixel plus GrapheneOS after a decade of Samsung loyalty due to the stylus.
