There’s always a conflation. Fundamentalists are impossible without moderate support.

I was referring to ‘you guys’ loving violence, taking ‘you guys’ to mean ‘people’, and yes people do love violence.

By ‘love’ I mean a positive response to violence.

…and we all experience that, don’t we? You might not like wanton, mindless violence, but we celebrate violence everywhere, every day. Extra especially when the violence is considered to be an act of justice directed at someone considered to be ‘evil’

A good recent example would be the Charlie Kirk assassination. Have you noticed the guillotine imagery throughout social media recently?

…or history. Or movies. Or music. Or books. and so on, all are permeated by violence.

Here’s the rub… those practical moderates FUEL the fanatics (donations and tithing), and they also provide the fundamentalists with a smoke screen of respectability.

They’re a huge part of the problem. The fundies depend on the moderates.

There are something like 10 million students attending Christian school and the like, and another 5 million or so being home schooled.

They don’t really believe in the scientific method and critical thinking, in general. At least in my experience as a student of a Christian school. I had no idea.

I agree with you, they are supplying Russia right now, and they have a very long history of working together.

I disagree, I think they will not invade the EU without Chinese agreement and a lot more of their support. But, I’m not a general or anything, just my opinion.

Those companies would be screwing you regardless, you can’t get a company to do anything but acquire profit without government to restrain them, otherwise they run the show and would own you as a slave. Only government limits their power, which would be absolute otherwise.

Unfortunately, our government is now under the control of corporations and has been for some time (since at least “money is free speech” and “corporations are people” court victories), defeating it’s purpose. We used to break up monopolies and remove business licenses for unlawful practices! The good old days.

Hmmm, if corporations are people, and they make and employ AI, that means AI is people or something. So that’s kinda neat.

Agreed, but that is what increased our reluctance for “total war” in my opinion, it’s not that our people have lost our spine. Nukes allow the weaker opponent to counter punch much higher than their weight class, this has even worked for North Korea.

I think that’s a fantastic plan, but it appears to me that the EU would rather not lose their gas source, they are still buying Russian gas last time I checked. This would lead to at least a major price increase, which is bad for our too-big-to-fail international business interests.

On the other hand, Ukraine was given many F-16s, why would they allow F-16s but not long range strike drones? I don’t know enough to figure it out.
