  • I have one SSD which I use as a data drive between both Linux and Windows. I used to run Steam games from it, but there were some small problems sometimes, so nowadays I just use it as a storage.

Generally it works just fine, but sometimes Windows does something weird with it especially when running updates, so that Linux can’t mount it. During those times I just have to boot to Windows desktop and then come back to Linux and it usually mounts again. If you totally get rid of Windows, I don’t think this will happen to you though.

  • That’s pretty much my worry. I would be fine if they e.g. release their “official” lutris script or something, because at least then I would trust that they might be willing to fix issues if something comes up. But now that they are pretty much saying that they won’t support Linux in any way, but you might try these solutions on your own risk, it doesn’t really make me want to use them.

  • I don’t have a Steam Deck so I can’t really help you with that, but I still find it funny that Jagex somehow decided to make a security improving Jagex Launcher for a multiplatform game, but then the launcher doesn’t support Linux and the method they suggest doing is running some random Lutris script from a random github repository which doesn’t have any kind of support from Jagex’s side. Apparently they can’t even get it to Linux because they are using some kind of a licensed tech that doesn’t support Linux at all.

Earlier this year I had a months long issue where my desktop image would freeze if I set its refresh rate higher than 120. I thought my GPU was breaking up, but I finally found a post on the Nvidia forum where someone else had the same issue and realized that it was because of the newest driver. It took months for Nvidia to fix that. Two months ago I just decided to switch to AMD and sold my Nvidia card and haven’t had any issues with AMD so far.

  • I just got S23 because I wanted a flagship phone, but got tired of large phones that don’t fit in pockets properly. So far S23’s size has been really good. It’s large enough that it doesn’t get annoying to use it for a long time or read long articles, but still small enough that it’s generally more convenient to carry everywhere.

  • There was probably some pressure as the game was in development for a really long time it got already delayed by almost a year, but I also feel like it has a lot of design choices which aren’t great. The development started right after Fallout 4, so I feel like 8 years of development is a pretty long time and if it had to be rushed out, there had to be some management problems. Feature creep is probably what especially happened, because there are so many game mechanics and features that don’t really have good impactful use cases.

Not to spoil anything, but the story and lore is pretty meh. There’s really no real sense of exploration like I have felt in Elder scrolls or Fallout. There’s just too many loading screens all the time (This is probably an engine limitation, but something that should have been realized in the early phase of development. Probably not really something you can change later). There’s a lot of sidequests, but most are just boring without a real story behind them.

The AI is just dumb and once you play for a while, the battles just doesn’t challenge you in any way even on higher difficulties. The outpost system just doesn’t make sense. It’s not like there’s not enough features in the outpost system, it just doesn’t make sense to use it properly. The stealth system often doesn’t make sense and is not useful in any way.

And to not to end it too negatively, I still liked the game. It’s just frustrating because I see so many potential game mechanics around me while playing that don’t really make sense to use.
