Anarchists will really try to rip us apart for being “authoritarian”, but when you ask them how their system would deal with crimes, upholding socialism, or maintaining any semblance of order, their responses are almost always far more extreme than ours.
Genuinely had an Anarchist call me an “evil person” and a “future baby killer” for saying that I’m ML. Then when I asked them about their proposed methods for preventing counter-revolution, they described a system where anyone can murder anyone else if the victim was suspected of wanting to act against the revolution. No trial, no investigation, just the word of the murderer.
Edit to add another thought to; “their responses are almost always far more extreme than ours.”
If it’s not more extreme, it’s lax to the point of being nothing. So the poles are either a system of total chaos, or substanceless idealism.
this comment not having downvotes means the people downvoting probably didn’t even open the post. If they read it they used the preview.
That’s what you call bad faith engagement.
liberals mad
Every time I hear about AES cops, it’s about how nice and actually helpful they are.
That says a lot about who and what is being ‘served and protected’ in capitalist countries, it’s definitely not the people.
average US liberal: “I’d hate to live in an authoritarian police state like Russia”
also average US liberal: “Though it is bad that the police are militarized and have constant access to everything we do at all times without the need for a warrant, we’re not in a police state”
the TLDR version; in WWII the Americans would look at bombers that returned to base after doing flight missions, and decided based on their damage where to add armour to future bombers. I.E. they looked at surviving planes to decide how to better protect planes, instead of looking at crashed ones.
I simply do not know.
It looks like you have to be an instance admin.
From what I gather, instance admins file endorsements & censorships on other instances, listing their reasons.
It’s nice that it’s democratized, but it’s not nice that one person can put you on the censor list.
for people who care, our endorsement to censor ratio is 3/1
I went ahead and looked into it a little closer.
We’re still on their whitelist, which could honestly be an accident. But if it’s not, then it makes the second part of my findings more annoying.
We were added to the “censored” category because one instance listed us as being “redfash”. We banned a person registered to this instance for “liberalism” a short while ago. Meaning, very likely, they retaliated by listing us as redfash on Fediseer.
such a fuckin reddit moment.
when they sent me the DM, I replied “good for you” and simply moved on with my morning.
because like, did they seriously think anyone cares at all that they defeded from us?
edit:: after investigation, it was an automated message, and wasn’t informing me of defederation. Still annoying though.
If this becomes common knowledge, the western left is going to once again show their true faces.
Without a doubt, we’ll see people who call themselves “socialists” arguing that the Ukrainians who fled the country are - in some way - in the wrong and should be sent back. I’ve already seen them argue that Russians who’ve moved to Western countries should be arrested, simply because they’re Russian. And these are the people who call us “Red Fascists”? Fuckers literally argue for the mass arrest of an ethnic group, because the government that represents them is an enemy of the West.
telling a white “socialist” about Che’s ideals and tactics made them look at me in disgust, and later I saw that they posted on social media that they threw out all of their “commie merch”.
These people are posers and nothing else, they will back the whites in the revolution.
white western leftists will literally be like “yes I’m a socialist… I just hate everything that socialism has done in the world and I’ll gladly defend anti-communist efforts when they don’t directly effect me”
anytime someone says “I used to be a communist” then defends capitalism, 9 times out of 10 they were a larper who never actually read substantive theory and was just angry at certain aspects of the capitalist system… which their privileges overcame, thus pushing them back to the right without ever actually learning anything.
This person claims to’ve “woke[n] up … [to] look at the facts” but really they turned on MSNBC and turned off their brain.
Even if that’s the case (it isn’t always) it’s a lot better to have a local boot than a foreign one.
Africans deserve to be governed by Africans, not politicians who turn their country over to imperialists for profit. It’s much better to critically support coups in the imperialized world when they’re done by local interests than it is to make blanket statements and deny local voices their self-determination.
I’ve watched people play it, and aspects of it look enjoyable. But it’s far from the semi-realism that WT has so I’m not that interested in it.
To be honest, I like that they added tanks to the game. I started playing a little after the tanks update, and the game was fun as hell back then. There weren’t try-hards, there weren’t game breaking mechanics, you only had like 4 nations to choose from (if not only three, I don’t remember how many were there at launch) and generally, the game was just a lot better.
now there’s a million nations, the same tanks in a lot of the trees, too many BR levels so you’re stuck fighting tanks that are way too powerful for yours because you happen to be nearer the end of the BR range you’re in. And simple fragments of a round that hit feet from your tank can breach your hull and kill your entire crew?! It’s absolute ass, and world of tanks is far from a substitute unlike what some people insist upon it being.
I would love a tank game that forced you to actually use tank tactics and work with your teammates, and didn’t allow you to use period-inaccurate tanks for “”““balance””“”. But, unfortunately, I haven’t found that yet.
all of the people who were part of Anonymous who were worth a damn at hacking back in the day work for the state department now. The movement could very likely have been a psyop, given how many high-level hackers from that era there are on government payroll.
I stand in solidarity with the gay furry hackers.
