I don’t quite get Norway. But I certainly expect a Nazi automaker to be somewhat popular in Austria.
ExtremeDullard@lemmy.sdf.orgOPto Politics@beehaw.org•Muskrat Abandons Ship | The Coffee Klatch with Robert Reich3·11 days agoI have written off the United States myself. And I’m a former American. My personal date for the official death of the American republic is Apr 14 - the day Trump disobeyed a court for the first time.
If you think I’m being dramatic, consider this: Kilmar Abrego García is still in a concentration camp in El Salvador.
With that in mind, I’ll be pleasantly surprised if America recovers from this bout of MAGA fever, but I’m not holding my breath. Reich however, being still an American and still living in America, and still involved in trying to make Things Better™, obviously has a different outlook and is probably more hopeful than I am.
At any rate, Reich is always informative and pedagogic, and always worth a watch.

But let’s try him for crimes against humanity first, shall we?

ExtremeDullard@lemmy.sdf.orgto Technology@beehaw.org•Tesla Reportedly Has $800 Million Worth of Cybertrucks That Nobody Wants30·29 days agoThe Cybertruck has always been a vehicle designed by a childish mind for equally puerile customers. Now it’s also a strong indicator that you might be a bit of a Nazi if you own one.
So yeah, I don’t expect it to sell too well, as most motorists are adults who tend to dislike Nazis, or would prefer it if they didn’t have to worry constantly about their vehicle being defaced by non-Nazi adults.

I guess what I meant was, how do even GOP critters stand for this? It’s supposed to be the party of law and order, and they behave like servile little yes-men fascist enablers.
I’ve never had any great love of the Republican party, but even I admit that the staunchest traditional Republicans had 10 times more morals and principles than those MAGA asswipes and would have done something about their rogue fascist racehorse with the Democrat minority. The current crop of fake Republican magats is appalling. That’s what’s truly unbelievable.

How is this madman still in office? How is that even possible?

Facebook’s entire business model consists in invading as much of everybody’s privacy as possible and monetizing people’s private data. Its “products” are just honeypots to attract marks to milk for private data. You didn’t really think they turned a profit selling electronic sunshades did you?
If someone is stupid enough to buy a pair of those and put themselves under surveillance by Facebook, it’s their problem. But if I ever see anybody looking at me with those glasses on their face, they’d better remove them pronto when I ask them to or I’ll become bellicose rather quickly.

I’ve never understood that. Why would honest, hard-working Americans root for a convicted criminal billionaire? It seems like the very definition of self-harm to me.
He’d better think again, because if most people lose their jobs and can’t put food on the table, they’ll reach for the pitchforks. And then the smug psychopathic kleptocrats who make those statements will wish they had implemented UBI just before getting whacked.
