Since you’re asking for interesting I will skip some obvious ones that you likely already know.
Deliver Us the Moon & Deliver us Mars, puzzle games made in The Netherlands. You might also recognize one of the voices if you’ve played Baldur’s Gate 3.
Last Train Home, tactical strategy game made by a Czech (afaik) studio.
Stray, puzzle game where you play as a cat made by a French studio.
If I think of more I will add them later :)

9·7 months agoIf you like dark humour that doesn’t hold any punches: Norsemen is my recommendation.
To tag on, check out Bazzite if you want nvidea deivers included and some QoL things for gamers
“See babe I told you phallus fencing is a very natural thing!”
I think the problem is not preferring manga/comics over regular books, but rather that anon implies, with the whole “not being willing to make a manga or at least a graphic novel”, that normal books are lazy inplementations of literature, which is such a dumb and inconcievable POV that we are justifiebly ridiculing them.
Fucking hell I feel validated rn, I had a similar experience at that age but it was in language/reading class. It’s so frustrating to know that you are correct but you lack the terminology/ability to properly convey why you are right.

2·10 months agoIt works just fine for me on my RTX 3060 Ti. No significant performance decrease or stuttering at all (except in Cities Skylines II but that’s not Wayland’s fault)

10·1 year agoHere in The Netherlands we have a drink called Cassis. It’s a soda made from fermented blueberries. It sounds more delicious than it is in reality, in my opinion.

Games@sh.itjust.works•What have been the games whose writing really got into you?English
11·1 year agoWhat Remains of Edith Finch comes to mind for me.
In the game, you play Edith Finch going back to her family home. It was home to multiple generations of the Finch family. This family has a serious case of bad luck, and most of them didn’t get very old. As Edith, you explore all of the rooms and see the final moments of the person who used to live there.
It is not a horror game - but it is haunting, in a sense. If you enjoy good stories and writing, give it a try. It’s only about 2 hours, and best played in a single sitting. It’s also on sale regularly.

Unpopular Opinion@lemmy.world•I don't mind paying for YouTube Premium.English
212·2 years agoThere was a time where I would have been happy to pay for it too, back when the ads were less intrusive. However, the number of ads increased drastically when they started pushing premium, and it’s only gotten worse - not to mention the fact that, even though they make more money, the content creators (employees) are paid less per view. I don’t mind paying for a product or service. I do mind paying to make an engineered inconvenience from a mega corporation that has a de facto monopoly go away.
Could be, though I am not claiming it is the best distro ever made. It is very good for my use case, however, and I think that it is a good option for many gamers that are considering taking the leap.
Been running Bazzite for a month and having a great experience with it! My nvidea cards work with no hassle, and with the extended proton I have had issues with only 1 game so far, and even that was fixed by just switching to a different version. Only downside so far is that Wayland doesn’t work as well as X11 on my DE, but with the rest working great, I have no complaints :)

4·2 years agoHey now, we Dutchies love taking the piss out of Belgians just as much :)
We do have pancakes with bacon or cheese yes, but they are typically combined with “stroop” (sugarbeet syrup), not fruits. At least, not to my knowledge.
A worse food crime we do is the pickled herring with raw onions, imo.
I know I’m not in a great position to give culinary criticism as a Dutchman but what the actual fuck

Yup, installed Linux Mint for my 60+yo mother. She hardly uses her laptop and does not need anything advanced. We set it up, installation went very smooth (obviously), set up her browser so she can use it like she’s used to, and we figured out how to use the printer. Thankfully it was no hassle at all, it just connected via USB and interacted very well with the printing and scanning software that came with Mint. She was already using firefox and libreoffice, so that was no hassle either. So far so good!
