They aren’t going anywhere. They love NYC, that’s where all the good shit that a billionaire’s family likes is. If they have to pay a little more, that’s what they’ll do, and scream “New York is too expensive!” like the rest of us have been saying for forever.

I used to believe that we needed to add 4 more SCOTUS seats, but I no longer believe that. Now I think we should add 20 more SCOTUS seats.
The distribution of the court shouldn’t be so tight that one bad faith president can negatively influence policy for the next half century. We need a court that’s too big to game with a few seats, along with term limits, and rolling election dates. That way, every president gets to appoint a few, but not enough to distort the results.

I once saw a guy in a suit, having lunch with his teenage skater-kid son in Chipotle. The line wound past them, so I could hear the kid telling his dad all about the latest episode of Dragonball Z in excruciating detail, as the Dad nodded absently, and looked like he wanted to die.
I went home and told my son my “Love What Your Kids Love” philosophy, and said that when he was young, if he had wanted to talk to me in excruciating detail about some dumb anime thing, I would have…had to cut him loose. Sorry, I just couldn’t do it.
He thought that was hilarious. He hates anime.

I tried to not swear when my son was born, but that lasted about 3 days. After that, I always spoke freely in front of him.
Today, he’s 27, and NEVER swears. He just doesn’t do it, never did. His friends don’t swear much either. They all saw it as another unseemly thing that older people do.
