The retirement community my elderly uncle lived in worked with a local hospital that would schedule all the appointments for the same day, around the same time. They had almost every specialty in the same building so the residents could see the various doctors they needed. But if you had your own doctor at a separate place, you could schedule it ahead of time and they would drive you there. However this was a high-end community that cost a lot, so I’m sure if cheaper places would offer the same options.

And Florida! They will be the first to go.

I have a similar story! My family was having a reunion at a restaurant but some people didn’t know how to get to the restaurant (before GPS or mapquest), so my dad told them to follow him in their cars. My dad was driving in the first car and there were like 3 other cars behind us with family. As were driving on the highway my dad dumps a bag of pistachio shells out the window (idk where he got the bag from) and pelts all my family’s cars. It was so funny when we got to the restaurant and all the cars behind us were super confused about the pistachio shells.

So if you are in school or going back to school for psychology then I recommend just focusing on your degree and maybe take elective classes in your side interests when you have time. I didn’t study psychology but my major was really labor intensive and I needed all the time I could to study and work on projects. However, I did take a fun forensics class as an elective that is still one of my all time favorite classes since I loved CSI.

After you graduate and get a steady job, you’ll have more time to focus on your interests. I schedule out my week and take classes at a local school after work in things that interest me. Then weekends I dedicate to family/friend time. I also watch YouTube videos in my free time.

As many people have mentioned kids, its good to note that I don’t have kids at this time. I plan to have kids in the future and am aware that my night classes will have to end when I do. However that’s a sacrifice I’m willing to make because I really want kids. I just hope that one day I’ll be able to share my hobbies with future kids or enjoy what hobbies they are interested in.

I honestly haven’t had the 3x spicy version so I honestly cant say anything about it. I had the Spicy and Hot Chicken which, based on the name, I’m guessing is milder. I know that spice tolerance is a huge thing and can vary wildly from person to person so I totally understand how it could be a bad experience to some. Which is why I think a recall is silly and instead they should have a warning so those who like it can continue to eat it.

Sounds like a skill issue.

But seriously I’m guessing people in Denmark (or these regulators) don’t eat much spicy food because I’ve had the Spicy and Hot Chicken and it wasn’t spicy to me.

I lived in Florida for a long time and when there are major hurricanes you have lots of people heading north. I’ve seen them reverse some lanes on the opposite side but keep one for south bound movement. Normally the only people headed in the other direction are emergency workers and its not enough to need more than one lane.

I’ve been dealing with my 85 year old uncle who recent fell and broke his hip again. I’ve learned the following:

1. Physical exercise is important! My uncle could barely walk before, which is probably why he fell. While he was in the hospital he physically could not sit up on his own (no upper body strength) and now cant lift himself into/out of his wheelchair. I’ve decided to start working out more and focus on strength.

2. Listen to your doctors!! After he broke his hip the first time, he refused to do physical therapy and would not use his cane. It’s obvious that both of these things would have helped prevent him from falling the second time.

3. Be kind to the people around you! My uncle is narcissistic and insults friends/family when he gets comfortable with them. This meant that for most of his stay in the hospital, I was the only person who visited.

This reminds me! At work we often send emails to customers through our ticket system so they are recorded. A new guy got a pop-up asking if he wanted to send the email. He looks at me and says “What do I do?” I say “Well you have 2 options: Yes to send the email or Cancel.” He clicks Cancel and is then confused the email never sent. He quit a few days later which honestly was better for all of us.

We used to watch the reruns as kids. When we would fly, we begged our parents for a seat near the wings so we could look for the gorilla.

It makes me sad to think that Perseverance has to leave Ingenuity behind. They went on this amazing journey together across the stars but now Perseverance has to keep going. I hope they can be reunited one day in the future.

I like to think uncanny valley exists because of other homo species we would have interacted with in pre-history. Obviously this is just a fun theory since we have evidence of mixing.

My cleaner just moves stuff to the side, cleans that area and slides them back. So at most it’s like a few inches from where it was before or in the same general area. We have a really sweet lady come once a month and it’s so nice to not worry about doing deep cleans. I do basic cleaning in between if stuff gets really dirty.

My family says your an adult the day you enjoy buying adult things. I just recently bought some good knives and glass food storage containers. I was super excited when they arrived. Video games and other fun things are exciting to buy myself but some good knives were next level.

I think the problem is that no one can agree on what makes the world shitty. Some people think the rich should be taxed, some people think other people shouldn’t have equal rights. And then other people are purposely using the disagreement to get what they want. It’s a mess with no clear fix in sight.

Alcoholic drinks, for a good part of history, were safer to drink than water because its production includes a boiling step that kills bacteria. We know now that you have to boil or treat water before drinking but for most of history alcohol was safer.

I reply all to all work related emails because people will add someone who needs to be aware of what’s happening and I may not realize this is important to them. If they don’t want to be on the email they can ask me personally and I’ll take them off the chain.

I never reply all (or at all) to company update posts (e.g. new hires/promotions/other bs). If you want to congratulate them do it privately. The whole company doesn’t care.

If by a “mixed way” you mean 1-2 days in office, that would never work for a lot of people for the reasons below.

1. You have to commute those days.
2. You have to find child care but it’s not consistent so your possibly paying more per day for the few days vs. getting a good rate for weekly.
3. You have to carry all your equipment with you. (I personally have to carry my laptop plus the equipment I support which takes like 2 trips from the car to my desk plus time to set everything up.)
4. Not all of team comes in the same day/same location, so your still on virtual meetings anyway.

To be fair a lot of this is my personal experience and other companies may work differently but for me, I’m staying fully remote. Good companies/teams make it work. If your company/team can’t work like there are other issues at fault.

AI are already generating antibody treatments. Companies provide AI with the disease/issue and antibodies that kinda work, then have the AI generate antibodies to fix the disease/issue. The best antibodies are then made in a lab and tested in vitro. However, as somone else noted, antibodies/medications are patented, which is different than copyright. Patents can be done on the process of making the antibody so you patrent the final process of making the antibody, not the AI work to come up with which antibody to make.
