Don’t worry about the article being light on details, they’ll restart the project a few times between now and release.

At least this time the contractors won’t be working on an new engine as they all have to piecemeal a game with a tenure of 1 and half years. Seriously while 343 hasn’t done great with the halo franchise I do feel part of the blame comes down to Microsoft with their forced contractor bullshit. Hard to make a coherent game in your super special engine when you are constantly at a brain drain.

Hey look, they’re making another soulless cash-grab based on something the community used to respect! How amazing(ly predictable)!

You know that lying bitch is gone now and the people working on infinite are actually passionate about the franchise.

It’ll run on Unreal Engine 5 at a cool, cinematic 24-30fps with an exhilarating 85ms input response time and 12fps 1% lows. I can’t wait.

I heard theyre doing away with melee as they’ve only just figured out how to register the bullet hits and the actual melee is just not even on the list of important things

I just want to pretend Infinite doesn’t exist and give an actual conclusion to the Promethean games.

The curated partsnof Infinite were pretty good, I’d take a pass on the open world aspect. Multiplayer on infinite is pretty good now. Worth another shot if you haven’t played in a while

The entire last level was pretty good outside of the two boss fights. If they had tried to emulate ODST’s open world, I thought it would have been better and allowed for more of those curated levels (and include flashback levels for story. instead of holograms).

But the “story” itself just makes me pissed just thinking about it.

I’ll have to try the multiplayer again. I didn’t really care for it last time I tried. Too… loose I guess?

Can we just give the franchise back to Bungie and let them pick up where they left off, and pretend the 343 shit never happened?

The people who made halo are scattered to the wind my dude. Most of them did jump to 343, and a lot of the ones who stayed were driven off during the destiny/Activision years.

Most of them did jump to 343

Only a handful went to 343

Interviewer: So, what sort of percentage of the old Bungie team came across to 343 to work on the franchise?

O’Connor: 343 is almost entirely non-Bungie people. There’s a few of us, but the vast majority of the team is new and from other AAA franchises around the world. It’s a big team, 250-300 people, but very few are ex-Bungie people.
