I’m mainly referring to two different shows, The Pitt and The Bear. Both feature realistic (well 99% realistic) representations of the portrayed workplace, and usually involve a lot of yelling, stress etc. While normal shows about these places will involve those things, they’re usually not the main focus.

Idk, I like that The Pitt is realistic for a lot of reasons. But I just can’t watch it. I’m stressed enough as is, I don’t need secondhand stress from an ER.

Don’t watch Beau is Afraid. That movie had me squirming all the way through.

I don’t know if it is a new thing or if maybe the genre is just getting more refined. Lots of those occupational reality shows like ice road truckers or deadliest catch were meant to be stress inducing but due to the quality constraints of using real people not actors and editing for story instead of writing it, they could only really hook into people who already had an understanding of the situation.
