Seems like most of the Tesla shills haven’t really made it over to the fediverse yet, so that’s nice.
They have their Twitter for now.
No new story.
David Clough, 18, was behind the wheel of a 2016 Tesla while traveling eastbound on I-76 in Plum when he “lost control” due to the car being on Tesla’s Autopilot mode, according to a crash report issued by the State Police. Clough was cited for careless driving.
Looks like it’s from about 4 days ago. That’s pretty new in my book.
I want to know if the “autopilot” (adaptive cruise control) was disabled before impact so that the driver was found at fault. Despite Tesla disabling it way after the point the driver can properly react and correct the situation
Crash report states it was active.
And on that same day, and each day before or since, nearly 100 human drivers killed people, 4k human drivers injured people, and nearly 10k human drivers damaged property. And I bet every one of those human drivers felt today would not be a day they wreck their car.
I’m not saying autopilot is perfect, but honestly it gives me hope that we’re still reporting each single accident it causes, because we couldn’t possibly report the ~15k accidents a day, every day, humans cause.
