personally i can’t decide between Hell’s Paradise and Heavenly Delusion!

Special mention to Konosuba explosion on this wonderful world too!

I’m not even that much of a fan of the genre, but “Oshi no ko” will probably become one of my all-time favorites.

Oshi No Ko is definitely heads above the rest this season. What a piece of writing and direction!

This is so interesting. I wrote it off, but the positive regard that it’s receiving in this thread has me thinking I’ll check it out

The premise is a bit off-putting and incesty but once you get past the first half of the first “episode” (which is a feature-length movie BTW) all that uncomfortable stuff pretty much goes away (the kids get older). Then it’s just a matter of accepting that a person who’s lived for nearly fifty years is hanging out with high school girls every day 🤷

The whole show is very well done and seems to be a social commentary on the entertainment industry and to a lesser extent, how much connections and owed favors matter in Japanese culture. I find it different and refreshing 👍

I’d also have to say Oshi no ko but I haven’t really found anything that special this time around, you know? Isekai is not my cup of tea, so this is the worst timeline. I might have to make an effort to find something new that I like.

My favourite this season has been Skip and Loafer, I look the most forward to it for sure. It just makes me smile most of the time and sometimes I need a show that is just uplifting. Similar to how Campfire Cooking made me feel last season. I have been enjoying several others this season though too.

Heavenly Delusion and Skip and Loafer would be my choice. I hope we get sequels to those.

Birdie Wing S2 is wonderful!!! Although the last few episodes were rushed and unnecessarily angsty imo, wonder if they’ll manage a good finale.

+1 for Heavenly Delusion / Tengoku Daimakyou. Really love it! tried Oshi no Ko, also, but dropped after the first episode.

I only followed Hell’s Paradise, Loving Yamada, and Raeliana. Out of those three the one I’ve been looking forward to the most each week has definitely been Loving Yamada. Which is surprising since I thought it would be Hell’s Paradise because I enjoyed the manga so much a couple of years ago…

I decided not to get into loving yamada. Sounds like it would be worth it? My wife likes to watch more romantic anime. Would she like it to?

I think your wife would like Yamada-kun. I enjoy a good romance and this has been one of my favourite shows of the season. I find all the characters pretty endearing and the romance aspect is pretty good and focuses on the initial “starting to like each other” phase of the relationship.

I’ve mostly been clearing up my backlog (Violet Evergarden rn). Have been enjoying Jigokuraku, though. I watch it in 3 episode spurts

Oshi no ko and Dangers in my Heart are like the two shows I keep up with weekly. I let Hell’s Paradise sit for a couple of weeks at a time so I can binge more eps at once.
