Moisturize at a young age. It helps alot and will pro long your youth even if you don’t need it in the moment.

If you want to delete something on lemmy, make sure you edit the post/comment and replace it with something like “Deleted” then go to another instance to verify that the edit got sent to other instances. If you still see your old comment, then try editing it again later to a different text like “Deleted 2”. Only click the delete button after you’ve verified that your original text is no visible from other instances.

Now why do I say this? Because if you delete the comment without overwriting it, the deletion request might not get sent through the fediverse and now someone on another instance is still able to view your post. You can’t sent the deletion request twice, but you can edit a comment as much as you want, so if the federation is broken, you can always try to overwrite the comment again at a later time. Even then, there might still be a instance somewhere that didn’t receive your update/deletion request, so please make sure you don’t accidentally post your personal information.

Any time you make any amount of money, put 5% of it into a savings account. If you don’t have a savings account, make one. If you can’t make one, put the money somewhere safe in your house.

5% doesn’t sound like a lot, and for broke/poor people it can often mean the difference between eating that day or not, but if you’re able to do it, really seriously do it. I recently calculated where I’d be right now if I had done that, and I would have saved over $20,000 in the last 15 years if I had listened to my own stupid advice.

Also, wear moisturizing sunscreen every single day.

Treat your body good. Eat well and get some kind of exercise into your daily routine. Even Walking 20-30 minutes a day is enough to keep you healthy enough.

When you get into your mid 30’s things get harder.

Don’t let perfect be the enemy of good.
Also, good enough is good enough. And if it’s not, well then, it wasn’t good enough then, was it?

Never stop dating your partner. Time will pass you’ll get complacent and fall into a routine. It happens and that’s fine but Be aware of it and break the cycle, buy them a random gift, take them somewhere nice where you both get dressed up, leave them little notes around the house, do something they’ve been asking you to do but you keep forgetting or putting off. A relationship is work, so put the work in.

Proper dental hygiene is something that one should make a habit from a young age. By the time one realizes its value, like I did, it might already be too late.

Ditto with sleep hygiene. Those two are habits that I think should be learned and reinforced from a young age.

On the same vein, don’t underestimate the value of a good mattress. I once had one that could turn an hour of sleep into 8. It was magical.

I only wish I can actually go ahead and buy one; good pillows as well.

But then again, I’m just in a really shitty financial situation. Maybe when things turn around for me, I can invest on those.

Worrying just means you suffer twice.

If you have the power to change something, do it. If you don’t, your worrying is not helping the situation.

    Drink some water everyday.

While it’s good to stay hydrated, sometimes you just want to give your kidneys a break, especially if you exclusively drink soda.

How do you install it on android? I poked around github on my phone for a while and gave up.

Choose one of those links. If it doesn’t work, try another. If it’s not the correct one, it won’t install/load. (I’m not the most tech savvy, but the trial and error method seemed to work for me.)

Stop caring about the intentions of other people. Focus instead on the effect that they have on your life.

In special: get away ASAP from people who are eager to point fingers at the others, with little to no reason, and even when proved wrong will still double it down. Don’t allow them in your social circles. Your future self will thank you.
