What interest does the republican party and Project 2025 authors in driving the country into a depression?

Transfer more wealth to the elites, as well as grow their specific crypto projects. Tariffs will hurt the person who lives paycheque to paycheque significantly worse.

If everyone in the low, middle and upper class go broke the companies and business collapse and all assets become cheap, factories close down. All the rich folks who didn’t get too affected by tarrifs and were able to maintain their wealth can swoop in and buy up literally everything.

This will be the largest wealth transfer in America history.

The Republicans going along with it are interested in wealth and power for themselves, they will be fine, and handsomely rewarded, but their supports won’t.

Every year there has been the largest wealth transfer ever in the class war. It’s nothing special. But the buregoise have no sense of where the limit goes

      Options:

      1. They are idiots and have absolutely no idea what they are doing. See the journalist in the secret chat on signal

      2. they take the Putin way: the country goes though a very rough time and a strong leader need is needed to protect you.

I vote for the first one, you can’t be takes seriously when you are that stupid to send a real estate developer as a negotiator in Kremlin and have the head of health department be a guy that doesn’t believe in vaccines.

      I have few hypothesis:

      1. They know what they are doing, and the goal of current actions is to make rich americans even richer (at the cost of whole other world). Because any kind of crisis causes the same thing: poor gets poorer, rich gets richer (with some level of shuffling in place).
      2. They are approaching things using the “startup approach”, using the Zucks motto “move fast and break things”, without taking a second to think things through.
      3. They truly believe that those things will make it better (which I strongly disagree with, because things will get better only after any of those tariffs are lifted, regardless if it happens after the current market storm stabilizes or before)

Neither option has anything good about it, though I am not sure if it makes sense to speculate about reasoning anyways: both hypothesis give mostly similar “next steps” predictions. My take is that next steps will be advancing even more towards “america only”, either by NATO speculation (which have already started), or by getting closer with the russian regime, or anything else.

" or by getting closer with the russian regime, or anything else"

You know what counties are not on tariffs list? Russia, North Korea, Iran and I believe also Belarus and Hungary.

do you want to guess what they have in common?

Yeah, the line of Trump politics was kind of obvious from the beginning, unfortunately. Sadly majority of US voters did not see it through before, and continue “not looking up” :'(
